Anyone know where to find a long 1/4" extention, maybe 24" or 36"? I had a specific use for one, but it wouldn't be very often. Not enough to pay SO money. Was hoping someone else made them.

Cornwell makes a 2 foot one. I've never seen a longer one.

I made one. Cut an extension in 1/2 and welded a piece of 3ft bar stock to both ends. I can't remember now what I needed it for, but it worked.

I bought a set from HF with a few 3/8" and a few 1/4" that were at least 2 feet long and for the very little I have used them they have done fine. They were only like $10 to.

Interesting. Wish I were a better welder.

I don't see much on the HF site. Unless someone can steer me in the right direction.

I'm not sure your application but what about getting a length of 1/4" square stock however long you need. You can put a 1/4" 12pt socket on your ratchet and stick the 1/4" square stock into it, then put whatever 1/4" drive socket you want on the other end. This should work in most applications and will be cheap. I'm not sure what kind of twisting torque it can take, but wouldn't think 1/4" drive would need to much. And if you need the sockets to stay on then you could just use some electrical tape or something.

True it would load up. I would think for any given load it would yield at the same point but that elastic twist would be a real drag in certain situations.

I have a Williams M-124. The shaft is a bit more stout than any other 1/4" drive extensions I have: +/-3/8" versus +/-5/16" on my shorter SKs.

Why not use two 12" extensions? Have a locking extension for the one connected to the ratchet so the second one doesn't come off.

Tight quarters. The joint in the center would be an issue.

So what is the specific use? Just curious.

Nissan work. Specifically on this use, the crank sensor. Unless you are a contortionist, this extension would help a lot.
