I ordered a week ago. Now, I'm in the process of getting hold of Shoplet through Amazon.

This is what they will send you.

Just email Shoplet to ship the sockets or cancel the order, I don't want/need the phone pillows. We'll see.

On a side note How do you know that the deal you see on Amazon is real or not. Obviously this deal met the definition of being "too good to be true" I'm gun shy now.

Mine are also cancelled...oh well.

Bastards started the charge on the card, but it's now pending. Now I have to wait to make sure it does not clear....this does make me mad about Amazon....stuff should not even hit my account until it ships!

If it's a super good deal, and amazon isn't the vendor (a marketplace vendor instead), I never go for it. If I see something that's too good to be true from a vendor, it's almost always a listing error IMHO.

Yeah it seems like errors are prone to happening in the amazon marketplace. Maybe it has something to do with importing the vendors inventory database into the amazon system or something, I dunno.

It's definitely a gamble to try for it, but it seems like sometimes it really is just a good deal, and other times it's a mistake but you luck out and they don't realize it and ship it anyway for the great price. Other times yet, they ship you the wrong item entirely, which Amazon backs you on for returning, but you have to deal with the seller first, an extra PITA IMO. But most times, it seems, with these marketplace 'deals', the vendor realizes it was a mistake, catches it before shipping, and cancels it, no harm no foul (outside of possible having a pending charge on your card for a few days). That's why they call it a gamble I guess. How good of a deal it is and how much it costs needs to play into it -- how much you want to risk/gamble. It was worth it for the sockets, IMO, even if they did get cancelled.

Oh, just now received resolution on my nicholson file pack of 12 where I got one, from the seller ReStockIt. I had contacted Amazon who couldn't help me until I contact ReStockIt directly. I used Amazon's website, in the recent orders section, to "contact the seller" via email. I had told them I wanted the other 11 files to complete the order. They wrote back to tell me that the listing was an error, it was only meant for 1 not 12, and that they would issue a full refund including shipping, and that I could keep the file. Sweet!

I have a whole Toolbox full of files that says that is not always the case...

EDIT: I see where you're going with this, yeah I agree.

+1 to the cancelled SK turbo grips. Mine was showing pending up until a few minutes ago. I guess i'm kind of glad they cancelled instead of sending me a shoulder rest.

Not trying to stir anything with you guys but this thread is 90% about Amazon deals. Do you really get good deals on that site? I've never found anything good there. Do you just sit and sift through page after page to find mistake listings? I just don't get it.

It wasn't a price mistake or anything, but I got a pretty good deal on the Wera Kraftform Kompakt 40 through Amazon. A smidge over $20 shipped (I have prime). Can't complain...

yeah people finally quit listing all the harbor freight **** in here.

I have gotten a few deals from this thread including the file deal. 6 sets for less than the price of one. Its a thread worth checking once a day IMO

You must not have read all the posts in this thread, topics vary both on vendors and items, and maybe half the time even the wackiest ones either pan out or end a wash with refunds or cancellations.

Hot deals do happen, and Amazon does some crazy things. Most of the time some level of risk is involved, so stay out of the water if you don't want to get wet.

Hell yeah, i made out like a bandit on Amazon back when the PB Swiss madness was going on, found great deals on Beta hand tools as well as wiha and wera. I will agree it is hit or miss, but the guys that man this thread are good at finding good deals, and even better at sharing them with there garagejournal brothers. Thank you gentleman for your diligence.

Like I said not trying to stir anything just trying to figure out how to get good deals or whatever by looking myself.

The Wera screwdriver deal for $20.75, how much are they normally? For the shipping I'm thinking it's not that great.

Iwas trying to figure out what the catch was and I couldnt find anything. They have that same part number listed at $1200 in their catalog and the machine only is listed at $1100. So I bought one with pick up. Shipping was about $75 otherwise.

It includes a 10'mig gun, hose cart, and regulator.

I guess the only thing it needs is a ground clamp and bottle. But the machine by itself includes the ground cable so I guess Ill see what happens.

Thanks for the link, Ive been scouring craigslist for a decent shape used machine at this price for months now.

EDIT, please take your link down now so no one else can order and they catch their pricing error, lol.

Links gone WTF?

I'm in on that welder deal too. We'll see. I'll believe it when I see it. They did not have any available at my local branch or any other nearby branch so I had the option to have it shipped ($76) or order 1 and pick it up. I opted for order hoping it will go through. That has to be some sort of mixup.

So if it goes through should I
1) Replace old 110v Hobart with it
2) Sell this and old Hobart to get a 211 or 212
3) Sell this one for $800 (hopefully) and pocket the cash

What's the deal with that welder? It's doesn't list the Autoset feature on that ad, but looking up the Mfr#, it appears that is the same Millermatic 180 with autoset that is being sold for $900+ everywhere else.

Put me down as skeptical that the deal will go through, but I bit and ordered.
