Atlas/Greg Smith BP8000

I know this is a newer product, but has anyone used it yet? Because of it's narrow width it would fit my garage perfectly and would make for a great full sized alternative to the MaxJax I'd been considering. I love the fact that it has 3.5" height arms, a huge plus for my vette. I won't need the 9000# capacity of the other models either, so it may work out well.

My only concerns are the columns seem to be a bit skinnier than the 9000# counterpart - the total shipping weight is right around 1300 pounds. At 1395, if it's a decent product at all it seems to be a bargain.

Anyone? If anyone has an alternative lift of similar width I'd be interested as well. This one is 132" from outside of the baseplates. I've considered the bendpak xpr9fs and the dannmar admiral 9000, but both of those have lifting pads over 4" and both cost significantly more. Ideally id like something a bit heavier of the same width, capacity, and arm height and would have no problem spending more Thanks.

Oh yes, as stated above I've looked at this one too. It seems like a solid model, but the specs are almost identical to the Atlas lifts, but about 700.00 cheaper since I'll save on shipping with the Atlas models - I'll be picking up in Delaware.

I think I've narrowed my choices down to either the Atlas BP8000 or the Atlas 9KBP. Going to be picking it up July 4th weekend.

Updating this thread with my review :

I have also bought a Atlas BP8000 from Greg Smith one year ago and I cannot be happier.

I had height restriction but wasn't interested by the MaxJax so the Atlas BP8000 looked to be perfect for me and I knew at $1400.00 it was made in China but I gave it a try.

After 1 year of use I have had "0" issue .
I'll recommand this lift to anyone who is looking for a none commercial and inexpensive kit for his home.

I'm picking up a Greg Smith BP8000 this Friday from the Phoenix, AZ warehouse. Really looking forward to it!

FWIW, This is the third lift (in three different homes in seven years). I've had a 4 post (also from GSE), but sold it when we moved from NH to Phoenix, AZ and the new house didn't have the ceiling height to accommodate it. Then I bought a used midrise scissor type lift off of CL. It was better than a creeper, but working on the drivetrain under the car was tough. Well, I've moved again (to Scottsdale), and this house has 10.5' ceilings, so I'm going for the BP8000. For under $1400, and the fact that most of my lift work is on a 2,300 lb. Cobra replica, I'm really looking forward to it!

After the install, I'll run the 220v wiring to the lift. My other two lifts were both 110v. If that's as bad as it get, I'm OK w/it!

I am also considering the BP8000 for my new garage, but i'm a bit taken aback by the rating. They hint that they don't want you to put trucks on this, yet it is rated for 8,000 lbs.

Excellent home lift .

I don't lift heavy cars or truck so I cannot give any feedback on that but for a regular car , I'll have to say that I'm 110% satisfied .

Only negative thing I have to say is : I got it with scratches , Greg Smith doesn't carry any tuch up and so far I had no luck finding a color match anywhere .


You guys will laugh but I'm a bit excessive when it come to my toys.
