It wouldn't matter the weight limit is 50lbs per item up to 4 items for a total of 200lbs my toolbox's net weight is 770lbs according to strictlytoolboxes.com

Find another shipper.

If I can ship cars around the world, someone will ship a toolbox.

Ummmm....not to many shippers go to Afghanistan that I am aware of and I would have to flip that bill. No thanks, I'll find a smaller box if that's the case.

Exactly. I had a few boxes of books once. Heavy as ****... took 'em to UPS, asked how much to have 'em shipped (from Canada) to England? $400+ later, they were on their way. Anything can be shipped.

Edit: Okay, a WAR ZONE might a shipper pause for concern (or, "You're shitting me? A-stan?!? No damn way buddy!"). You omitted that salient detail in your first post. :lol_hitti

So you just bought a tool box and they can't ship it to you or you already have the box and want to ship it somewhere? Guess I don't understand everything. Is this a military thing, being shipped out?

I swapped a project mustang I had for the toolbox. I was gonna use the toolbox overseas as a helicopter mechanic (civilian contractor). Now I gotta find another smaller toolbox to take with me.

I find it odd that the government isn't providing your tools and box while you are in theatre working on aircraft.

There are shippers that will take stuff to Afghanistan, there are products going into and out of that part of the world everyday. The economy over there hasn't stopped completely.

Halliburton or Kellog, Brown & Root could ship it there I'm sure.

I don't think you've looked hard enough.

I have a truck coming in to me from Bahrain next month, I've shipped trucks to and from Dubai, Lebanon, chad, Kenya, Somalia, just to name those in places that aren't particularly stable.

Keep looking, you'll find a shipper that will handle it. You may complain about the cost, but I still think that someone can ship it there.

Understood BUT......I am not willing to flip the bill to ship my tools, I will just downsize and deal with the tools I can fit into 4 50lbs boxes. I am not in the position financially to pay to ship out my tools. If I was able pay to ship them I might as well pay 3000.00 for the Snap-On kit I pieced together along with 2 Pelican 0450 cases and have the company pay to ship it.

Tends to be FCL, which would be a bit expensive for one toolbox.

Did you know about the shipping weight restrictions before you traded for the box?

Nope, just found out about 4 hours ago. I don't know if I wanna sell the box or just keep it. It's a nice toolbox and I really don't mind keeping it.

Know anyone in the military state side that's heading back over that could take it with them?
