Converting a main breaker panel to a main lug panel?

Hi guys,

I have a Siemens 100 amp main breaker panel that I intend to put in my garage to upgrade from the old fuse box in there. I'd like to pull the 100 amp main out of the panel, use it in the new 200 amp Siemens panel that will go in my house to feed the garage, and use the 100 amp panel strictly as a lugged sub panel, as the garage already has a 100 amp fused disconnect, so I don't really need two separate overload protects for the same panel.

Is there an item that will snap in it's place in the 100 amp panel, and just act as a set of lugs?

Not positive, but I don't think that 100 amp breaker will just snap into the lugs of a panel, I think it is manufactured differently than regular breakers.

In this case it does. The 200 amp panel has a dedicated main breaker, but my 100 amp panel has a main breaker that snaps into the same lugs as the breakers that are used to feed the branch circuits.

This is the 100 amp panel that I have.

feed through lug kit.breakers are cheaper.leav it alone.won't hurt a thing and you can turn off panel without going to main.

It's a detached. If there is nothing cheaper than another 100 amp breaker, then that is what I'll use. If I do that, I will have a 100 amp breaker feeding the wires going under my driveway to the garage, into a 100 amp fused disconnect, and then leaving the disconnect and into the 100 amp main breaker of the sub panel. At least everything will be protected!
