CT525 Impact Wrench

I have been lurking on this forum for long enough. It's time I started participating. Anyhow, does anyone have any experience with this cordless impact wrench from Snap On? Is it suitable for lug nut removal on commercial vehicles tires? How about motorcycles and other applications? Information on this seems to be pretty scarce...

The CT525 is for SMALL nut and bolts (think interior trim). It is a 7.2 volt, 1/4" drive.

For what you are wanting to do, look at the CT6850 and CT6855 series of 1/2" impacts. They are more than capable of removing most lug nuts unless you afre talking big rigs (Kenworth size...).

If your dealer tried to sell you a CT525 to take off anything other than stuff like very small bolts, he is either an idiot or lying thru his teeth.

The smallest battery impact from Snap-on that could be used on lugnuts would be a 3/8" drive CT4410 seires 14.4 volt impact. They can be used with an 18 volt battery pack but with either the 14.4 or 18 volt pack, they are good for cars and trucks up to F150 size for a pro.

If you need something with more torque, step up to the CT6850 and CT6855 series. They will handle most chores that you would need an impact for short of heavy duty trucks, Honda crank bolts and the like. They are NOT a replacement for a good air impact but will work for most things that need to be removed.

Yes, I do own several drivers and the impact in the 7.2 volt line as well as a 14.4 volt 3/8" and an older 18 volt 1/2" impact.

I have the CT561, CT4410A, and the CT6850. The 561 is good up to 12MM with impact sockets, 10 with chrome, the 4410 is good for most engine disassembly, and the 6850 is for lugnuts and larger bolts.

inch pounds buddy, i bet you were thinking foot pounds. you mis understood your dealer. nothing 7.2 volt can do anything close to a lugnut.

Would you know if the CT525 comes in Orange. if so, what would be the model number? I'm just so tired of my Snapon Dealer telling me that certain tools don't come in a specific color...ie orange 24oz deadblow hammer. Thanks
