Just needed to rant. After waiting forever I finally am ready to install a VCT floor in my shop. I thought it would be easy to get started. First off no one around here had the Armstrong adhesive that is recommended, and after special ordering that from Home Depot I figured I was about ready to lay tile this weekend. So now I have the tile, adhesive is supposed to be here Thursday or Friday, now all I need is the trowel, how hard could that be. I have seen them in various stores, and it is just a trowel, right. Well Armstrong VCTs call for the S-891 trowel which has an odd set of measurements for it's notches, NO ONE has anything like it, just the Armstrong S-891. I know it is my fault not checking earlier, but finding the trowel is killing me. NO ONE around here has it. Home Depot doesn't have a number they can even order one in, and if I want one from Lowe's, I can get one, just have to wait at least two weeks. I found one local place that can get one in, but they say I need to pay UPS shipping to get it here by this weekend, vs. their normal deliveries from their supplier. I have only found the trowel in a couple places online, and obviously they can't get it to me by this weekend, but I can get it for $23 including shipping. The local place can get one as I said, but they want $37 for the trowel, and $16 for UPS shipping. That seems a tad much if you ask me. Well thanks for letting me rant.
Beer time. If anyone in or around Whidbey Island knows of a place I can find one, please let me know.
