I'm looking for a heavy duty eyebolt that I would be able to anchor down into my concrete driveway, where I would be able to chain a scooter/motorcycle to. Any ideas where i can find one, and what is the best way to go about anchoring it? Thanks.

I would think the absolute best way would be to bust up a section say 6'x6', weld the eyebolt to a piece of steel 2'x2' and then pore concrete back in covering the steel. The eye bolt wouldn't be going anywhere

Not an option, the most I can do is drill a large diameter hole, I doesn't really have to be super secure.

Maybe a couple concrete anchors and a bolt-on tie down? This way it folds pretty flat and won't be a trip hazard.

That sonds good, is that available at home depot?

If your Home Depot carries Hilti, then yes. Otherwise it can be bought through a local hilti store, or even online at www.Hilti.com. Another option would be to call your local building supply store (WhiteCap) and see what they stock.

I got my eye bolts from Home Depot that I use to chain down my tool box, tablesaw, mitersaw. it's pretty thick bar stock, maybe 1/2" diameter. I drilled into the concrete, set a drop in threaded concrete anchor that matched the threads on the eyebolt and put red loctite on. It's set pretty deep, I think I drilled about 3" into the concrete. I'm not worried about them twisting it out since with the chain on that would make it practically impossible to do. For the chain, I'm not actually using a chain but the thickest lockout cable they had. The cable is very stiff and harder to maneuver then a chain but since it's vinyl coated it does not scratch anything.

Have you considered a pull pot?

Would yield a flush surface when not in use

I'm not really worried about it being flush, and a 3.5" diameer hole seems like it would require special equipment to drill.

Sounds like that's what I'll do, thanks again guys.
