I have a 6041/2. The Columbian is a often overlooked and go for cheep. I love mine. That will last for the next 100yrs. You can still get part$ from Wilton. Regards

Great looking vise James! Columbians are like a Taxi.....they work well and are all around...we just don't seem to notice them. Columbian makes a really nice vise and it was affordable.

Looks identical to my Ridgid. Guess it is true that Columbian was the OEM for them.

How did you get the handle out?

not on those, they are forged one piece. I'm curious too. It was obviously cut off at some point.

If I was lucky enough and had the equipment and ability to make vise handles I think there might be a market out there for a reasonably priced replacement handle.

They are one piece. That was a selling point in advertising of the vise. I own two of them. How did it come apart? Were the ball ends screwed on to a threaded end of the handle?
