I did some cleaning last night and built a few shelves, so I thought I'd take some pictures of where the magic happens.

Looks good. I think I've finally found someone with a smaller garage than I have. Takes a lot of organizational skills to work in such a small space.

Helps to have a small car! With the car pulled into it's "normal" spot, I can walk around all sides of it (without having to shuffle sideways) and there is still a decent amount of space in between the car and cabinets to do whatever I need to do. When pulling the motor out I have to have the rear wheels just outside the garage, but it works.

I saw that toolbox and workbench at Sams just now, is it sturdy? Do you like it?

I have to ask - what is that box in the middle of the floor?
(maybe an oil drain box?)...

I like red door....adds character! Our spots, big or small (like mine) need these little touches to make them our own.

Since a Miata is a copy of a mid-60's British sportscar, it's to catch the oil leaks. :lol_hitti

But since it's a Japanese car, it doesn't leak, thats why it's clean. :bounce:

I keep thinking I should get one if I'm going to get serious about autox, instead of getting beaten by them...

I haven't been able to get a car in my garage in ten years, watch out for storage creep.:scared:

I love them, I want a few more of them and will certainly be adding as the budget allows.

Nice place and car!

Thanks! I'm heading back to the dyno this Wed. to finish the last bit of tuning. I'm really interested to see what it puts down.

Looks good!! Any plans to insulate and cover the walls with drywall or OSB?

As much as I would love to it's not in the cards for this year. I have a kerosene heater which does the job for now surprisingly well. I was able to maintain 55 degrees in the garage with outside temps in the teens.

It's a stainless steel tray to catch some oil. The seal around the slip yoke on the rear driveshaft seal leaks a little bit.

The doors to the house are all the same color as well

haha, I actually don't store anything non-miata related in the garage. Everything else goes either in the shed or the basement.

Took the car to it's first car show this past weekend, I'll post up some of the pictures when I have time.

Your garage looks like it packs a punch for as small as it is, good job. Your tool boxes on rollers are nice. Can I ask where you can locate some like that?

Thank you sir!

Sam's club sells the majority of the Seville Ultra HD line.

Don't let anyone give you **** over the Maita. Mine only had minor changes (wheels, tires, lowering springs, upgraded shocks, and intake) it was the most fun to drive of all the cars I've owned.

Shh don't tell anyone! :bounce:

Rota's or the real deal Work Equips?

Really?

The car was actually featured on speedhunters during their "builds" month. Here's the link: http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011/02/16/builds-gt-gt-a-wide-boosted-miata.aspx

Ahh it looks good. It gives me hope. My wife IS kicking me out of the 2car and "allowing" me to build a 1 car...maybe. With that much organization I sould be able to build my jeep in there.

Sigh... used to have a Miata. Loved it. Sold it. Regret it. Eventually I want to build a crazzzzzy 1st Gen sleeper that'll outrun and outhandle most other cars, but keep thinking that a second-hand Elise out of the UK (we're right-hand-drive here) would make more sense. Then I see that stunning beast in your garage and I lust once more. Sigh...

Would really like to see the before and afters of your wetsanding - can you post results?

Here is my favorite picture of my car to date, taken by the guys over at Grocery Getter Crew from the First Class Fitment show this past Saturday. It was an honor to have my car chosen to be a part of this show as it was hands down the best car meet I've been to. This shot should also give you a good idea of how the car is looking now. The damage to the lip happened a week before the show and I didn't have time to repaint it, but it is high up on the to-do list.

Nice car and nice garage.

Have you thought about insulation? I guess it would help to ask if you live in a climate that needs it:)

Whats next on the garage project list?

Sure, I've thought about it a lot! However it won't be happening anytime soon. Only real plans for the garage are just to use it really. I have a kerosene heater, and this past winter I was able to heat the garage to 58 degrees while it was 12 outside, so I'm doing OK.

closeup of the wetsanding. This was after I hit the car with the rubbing compound and the buffer, but before the polishing compound and wax. Still pretty shiny!

I took a couple pictures of the tools in my box too. I didn't take pictures of each drawer, just the stuff I use most often.
