Excuse my ignorance but will the two forums be combined? Will there be other changes or is the "Alliance" basically just having a paid for membership?

No, they won't be combined. I also believe that the two alliances won't be combined either, you want discounts from both, you buy into both alliances.
Also, the only way to get a badge is to join the alliance. You want two badges, you join twice.
I see more HAMB guys joining the GJ alliance than the other way around.

At one point Ryan did say you could belong to one or the other and still get deals from vendors connected to both forums. Will have to see what the outcome will be as Ryan will have an answer. If you join here you will only get the badge here and not from the HAMB to get both badges you would have to join both forum Alliances.

For the Garage Journal Shirts, they were available the end of last year. I don't know if they are any still available or not.

Upon logging in today I noticed the alliance was ready for membership. I signed up, now I can't find any information. I want to check out the vendors.

Like I said, I found it in the connections tab.
I was surprised to notice that the HAMB alliance discounts will apply to GJ alliance as well. Very nice.
I'm in but I don't see the link at the top of the page anymore.

Once you are a member, I don't bother you with the banner any longer... Click on "the alliance" in the top tool bar for details about discounts, etc...
We are still working on this. Soft launch kind of. Everything won't be working properly until Monday or so... If you have already signed up - THANK YOU - your account will be squared away soon.

Actually, TGJ Alliance members will be able to take advantage of HAMB Alliance discounts... and vice versa...
i would rather be an alliance member here than the hamb.dont get me wrong,theres a lot of good guys on the hamb and lots of info there,but ive seen numerous occasions where a new member will post a pic or a question and get flamed and bashed by people. i lurk but rarely post anything there. here on the garage journal forums i have yet to see the kind of attitudes i see there more often than not.
