Lowes gets Bostich and the depot gets Dewalt on their new stanley made stuff. Both lines apper to be of decent quality for the most part.

Only reason I say Taiwan is I bet Stanley will make this brand their "high end" retail tool brand given Dewalt's semi-positive image. One would hope that they would choose the US to manufacture these tools, but alas it is not April 1st, so that's why I chose Taiwan.

It is not a Stanley brand per say. It is a Home depot line made by Stanley to what Home depot specs. More or less the same as Danaher making the Kobalt line for lowes.

Kind of redundant with Husky around, though they've kind of ruined that brand, so I guess it's time to start on another.

It's not surprising that Stanley would get into this game after Milwaukee decided to start making hand tools (Taiwan/China, too). Have to keep up with the competition...

I was in HD yesterday and saw their end cap of DeWalt hammers, tapes and what not. I noticed how much their 25' Dewalt tape looked like my Bostitch 25' tape I purchased at Lowes. I would immediately say that the Bostitch tape feels much heavier, and the DeWalt tape just felt cheaper to me. I really don't care for how they made the lock on it so big.

I could certainly see Stanley and DeWalt teaming up to replace a lot of Husky with a DeWalt/ Stanley line. It's a shame to say but the Husky line has really been run into the ground. Every time I walk into the HD tool department, I see more and more gimmicky tools with Husky's name all over them.

Stanley owns Bostitch also...

Yes they do (that's why it's Stanley Bostitch), it's sometimes hard to find a product in a tool department not actually owned by Stanley in one way or the other.
