Suggestions for drawer liners?

Just got a new box and wondering what you guys would recommend for drawer liners

At Home Depot, you'll find Duck brand heavy duty perf liner, super heavy duty perf liner, and solid liner from Duck and Con-Tack if you're lucky. The Wal-Mart charges a bit less for the Duck than HD, but their selections are limited to just the heavy duty Duck. I use the heavy duty perf Duck in everything I have that didn't come with liners.

I got myself a bunch of Yoge Mats and lined all my drawers with that. It has worked out very well tools do not slide around I am pretty sure I got the yoga mats at one of the local Dollar stores. Or google yoga mats and try that.

Thanks to tips right here on GJ, I also used yoga mat. Other tightwads recommended kitchen drawer liner, which is definitely non-slip and cheap, but I didn’t like the looks of it having perforation holes that would let dirt fall through.

(Looking back, I don’t know why I care if dirt fell through. It has to get cleaned up one way or another someday, and holes that let it pass through make that a faraway someday.)

I really wanted red for my drawer liner, because my used Craigslist Sears box was navy blue, not the red my traditionalist **** yearned for. There are many, many color choices in yoga mat land, but to get the red I wanted was going to be $10/roll plus UPS on several rolls, and it started to look no cheaper than Sears CMan or Kobalt drawer liner material.

I wound up finding 5 rolls of orange stuff at Wal-Mart being blown out at $5/roll. Wasn’t so keen on orange at first, but it has grown on me – good contrast in dim lighting! (The fruity lime green polka dots, mercifully, are only printed on one side. The bottom side, in this application.)

It is pretty decent with the nonslip grip.

I used Con-Tack brand from Costco. It is a little cheaper, and comes in a bigger roll. It is not the perforated style, but clear ribbed [dumb comment here]. It works fine for protecting tool and drawer, but not super cushy like a Yoga mat probably is.

Sears was clearing their AXS toolbox liners awhile ago, don't know if they're still doing it or not. I got a bunch from an outlet store, they're essentially the same size as normal drawers even though supposedly they're for the fancy ones.

Weight of the tools take care of that!
I haven't had a problem with them trying to roll up, anyway.

I picked up my mats at Ocean State Job Lots for $5 each. Nice bright blue to go with my midnight blue box.

I used cork drawer liner, which I bought in rolls from a website, organize.com. It's pretty expensive, cost about $20 for enough to do a small top box (2 rolls). Here's the link for the product I used, http://www.organize.com/colishli12x4.html I painstakingly cut it to fit each drawer with a razor knife and metal straight edge, and found out it expands slightly with humidity so had to trim a bit off in the middle of summer. A 19" length expands in the summer by about 1/4" due to the humidity. It looks great and works very well. I have 2 old snap on red tool boxes, and the cork color seems to go with the vintage red color nicely. The cork sheets want to roll back up at first so it's essential they be weighed down with tools, but after a few months they assume their new flat shapes.

Sorry I completely forgot to search. Walmart was sold out of yoga mats (they said they were seasonal lol) so I found this rubbery shelf liner. Just over 10 bucks for a 20" x 8' roll, and it comes in black, tan, and white. I cut them out and they fit perfectly.

You can also use Hot Glue to hold down the corners,It holds strong and easily cleans up if you change your mind.
