I recently got an old Craftsman Lathe....

....and it needs a couple parts. It's model #101-07383. This part drives the table(?). It's turned by the wheel and in turn moves the table by the gear I'd call the rack (of rack and pinion). My friend and machinist of over 30 yrs recently died and his wife wanted me to have this, so I'd like to get it fixed. What is this part called, so I can search for one? Thanks

There is one on Ebay right now. Are you the same Groucho from the HAMB? If so, there is a machinery repair place in Sun Valley off Penrose called Studwell. they may be able to track it down for you.

Groucho ebay is your freind on that lathe . You can buy almost anything you need for it there . Search atlas/craftsman lathe :D.
