I got a new SO ratchet today.. it's the 1/4 version of the F80, very nice, straight handle, feels just like the F80, haven't opened it up yet though. Apart from that, it looks like a mini F80

$60. I just used it to replace a steering column, very nice action, almost no kickback, better than my Craftsman pro 60 tooth, plus the handle is better.

Last week was the first time I tried the 80 tooth 3/8"s ratchet and the 72 tooth 1/4" ratchet, they are both on my want list. I will have to wait a while since I ordered the $700 Snap on roll cart.:shocking: I am tired of walking back and forth from one bay to the other for tools.

Are they offering just that one model or did you see other 1/4 versions that had the 72 gear design?

I only got and and saw a straight handle.. I imagine they're just beginning production of the ratchets. The FLF80 was the only one available for awhile.

Likewise, a little segway, I noticed this ratchet also doesn't have "USA" on it. I know it's a little out there to think this, but does anyone think SO will stop putting USA on their tools for a reason?

Yes I remember ImportTuner mentioning that about his F80; I find it to be disturbing news.

Im prettu sure my F80 has USA on it. I'll check tomorrow. For what they cost, they better be USA made...

It doesn't I did a triple-take on it the other day. It's odd, if the FX80 I should be getting if the warehouse doesn't keep screwing up the order doesn't have USA on it, I'll know they're probably just only putting USA on their flex heads. For some reason But on the other hand, if they intended to ebb away the USA from their hand tools, they probably would've started with the FLF80.

I just look at my FX80 and the only thing it says is the us patent number. No USA

It's kind of weird but some of my flex heads have USA on them and some don't. You would think that all the flex heads would be the same since you can put them on any size handle.

Perhaps the USA is stamped on the handle. Some of my 1/4 snap on ratchets have the USA on the handle, and not the head.

I checked. None of the handles have USA on them. I just hope that the ones that don't have USA on them are still being made here and not over seas. :shocking:

I have this T860 1/4":

and this F872 3/8":

You couldn't pry them out of my cold, dead hands. I'm on my third rebuild of the 1/4" in 3 years, if that says how much I use it at work. I will soon own both of them for my house, too.

Another round head Snap On fan.... I never really gave their round head ratchets much though until I bought one. I love them! I just wish that it was easier to switch directions with one hand....

Picture anyone?

I'll take some pics of my ratchets today

That's why I waited for the T72s and F80s

Hopefully you won't get the standard corporate response "All SO handtools are made in US" which is false, not just for those ratcheting wrench adapters, but also for their 3/8" dr adjustable crowfoot, and probably other things.

This topic has been covered before!

If it doesn't say "USA" on the tool, there is virtually no chance it was manufactured domestically. Sorry, but...

The only thing worse than paying Snap-on's ridiculous prices would be paying Snap-on's ridiculous prices for an imported tool.
