I want to make sure I understand and do this correctly.
I got a small hand air hose reel... probably weighs in at about 20lbs... it's not too heavy but I also don't want to just mount it on the wall with toggler bolts even though they say each bolt can hold 260lbs...
So I guess I am going to mount a piece of wood between the two studs where I want to mount it and then paint the wood to blend in the wall...
My main question is. Should I use one bolt per studd or do I want a big piece of board then mount the air hose reel.. The air hose reel has 4 mounting holes in a square pattern at about 4 inches apart... In doing so I can mount it anywhere on the piece of wood that is attached on the studs right, or does it have to be in the middle?
Sorry if this is a lame question.. I've never mounted anything like this via the method but have seen people on here do it on the ceiling, so I wasn't sure if the same could be applied on the wall that is vertical.
BTW this is what my air hose reel is: I really like it because it's small and doesn't take up a huge profile like all the other ones I have seen... It's perfect for my little garage with out being too giant!
You can also see two of the mounting holes on the base... the other two are in the same spot but above..
Thanks much!
