Mechanix Wear M-Pact impact gloves 50% at Advance, I checked the store they are in stock. probably even cheaper with order online pickup at store with online coupons.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...echanix-Wear_17500380-P_N3521B_T|GRP2086_____

Thanks! Got 8 pairs of the "original blue" gloves. $6.69 each pair! Used BIG30 coupon ($30 off $75). Also bought 5 qts of oil (that come with a $7 rebate), and a jug of washer fluid to get me to $75.31, so I qualify for free shipping (local store didn't have 8 pairs of gloves in stock). 6% cashback from Fatwallet counteracts the 6% sales tax!

So $75.31 out the door for 5 qts of oil, 8 pairs of gloves and a jug of washer fluid. Then get $7 back on the oil rebate on top of that. Total all said and done, $68.75, accounting for a 44 cent stamp.

I thought about buying 15 pairs of gloves and using a $50 of $150 coupon, but the price per pair of gloves would be higher than buying 8. Besides, I don't need 15 pairs!

I found one locally after calling about 5 stores. One store gave me stock count on the surrounding stores so that helped.

Is it still worth it at $79? Yes and no I suppose:thumbup: (edit)

I forgot the little smiley at the end and that changed the whole contex of the post. This was more of a joke than anything else.

I phone ordered it but have to pick it up(about 40mins away).

I ll compare it to my DeWalt kit and the loser will go up for sale.

I think that was written on '07. I would hope they have newer ones by now... Although I have heard some stories about Amazon condoms being dried out, and old. Guess it is a **** shoot.

Don't think so. There are a LOT of Lowe's local to my area and for that compressor every single one of them had it +/- $25 of $400. Only one store had it for like $249, and they matched the $183. For the Bosch drill, this same store has the last one they have for $159. I mean, you would think that would be the difference in the pricing but that is not what I noticed at all - doing some searches around the place I grew up, which is an economic nightmare, shows no break for clearance pricing at all.

Who knows what their logic is, or if they are even using any kind of logic. But I am pretty sure they solved the whole store price-mach thing by just pulling the item from their website so that tells me they know when there is disparate clearance pricing going on amongst their stores. Not saying it's stupid/bad for them to do it, but it does make me curious as to why they do it.

I ran into the same thing when I was ready to buy my miter saw. Dewalt DW717. Check this out: Link to local prices

I got the Lowe's in Hopkinsville to price match and paid Kentucky's 6% sales tax vs. the 9.5% sales tax here in TN. When I spoke with the tool department at the Dickson store I was told that specific DeWalt model was on clearance at that store. Dude had no idea if it was to be on clearance at other stores or not.

Thanks for the heads up. Bought two pairs at advance auto for in store pickup, will stop by after work to pickup. Also bought some wheel cleaners to reach the $30 threshold and used ES123 (10 off for 30). It comes out to about 8 bucks a pair.

Four large USA swivel sockets and Allen wrench lots eBay

Four big lots of USA made swivels 1/4 3/8 1/2, and Allen wrenches.

In the same spirit as earlier heads up on deals on eBay here is a link to some big lots of tools that look very good to me:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/desert5car/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562

I watch this sellers auctions after I recently had extremely good purchases from him before (prices, shipping, and *extras*). These are USA made swivel sockets and Allen wrench lots on eBay. I have no connection of any kind with the sale. Just spreading the word on a good seller who is moving large lots for those of you who have the need. Too much volume for me because the swivel lot in particular looks like a steal.
If this is inappropriate let me know because unlike some eBay mentions I've seen here before these don't have a buy it now option.

Please don't let SWMBFAO find out about this URL. She's pretty quick about spending my paycheck already. ...and if it's a DEAL I'm in BIG trouble.

I spent two weeks researching and comparing various saws. When I decided on that 717 I pointed it out to the wife. We were in town at the time and she broke out her cell phone, cracked her knuckles, and commenced with the Google-Fu.

She found some that had been repaired/rebuilt for $3xx but when I found them NEW, locally, for $349 it was a no-brainer. She even went with me to pick it up.

I was hoping we'd get price match + 10% but they wouldn't do it. We also didn't get the normal 10% military discount. Still a good deal.

But it's screwy how one store had it marked down like that on clearance while the others had it marked down from $499 to $474 and NOT on clearance.

I just got the Hanson drills listed below, just wanted to follow up with details. The drills are black oxide coated M2 HSS, made in Brazil and come in a green Huot metal index made in the USA, marked with both fractions and decimal equivalents. The packaging is bare white box, not retail blister pack.

a_global_banner_111002.png

Good for two weeks, the spend $100 get $50 deal at Advance Auto Parts is always good, especially with a bonus $20-30.

Hanson 13pc 118° drill bit set, M2 HSS, 1/16-1/4 by 64ths: $6.19 at AAP. A matching kit with new Irwin numbers is $13.85.

I called around on the 18V Bosch combo kit... The Albany, NY Lowes has one (open box) left for $99.

I was in for $30-something, but I already have too many cordless tools. Still a good deal at over half off, so if it can benefit someone else, go for it.

Thanks! Got 8 pairs of the "original blue" gloves. $6.69 each pair! Used BIG30 coupon ($30 off $75).

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! I needed a water pump for the Tahoe, plus gaskets, coolant, and a few other things including the gloves. The total was just over $150. I split the order in half and used your BIG30 code twice and saved $60, plus over $10 a pair for 2 pair of gloves for a total of more than $80 saved. Thanks again!!

Edit: The coolant also had a $15 rebate with a 2 gallon purchase, bringing the savings to over $95!!

Pretty sure these have been on sale before but Cman Premium Grade Ratchets are currently $10 off and an additional 15% is also stacking on.

1/2" Drive MSRP 79.99 -Sale $55.24 with coupon sears5off50 [a bit heavy/cumbersome]
3/8" Drive MSRP 59.99 -Sale $42.49 [recommended]
1/4" Drive MSRP 49.99 -Sale $33.99 [highly recommended]

so for about the price of one of the more fancy truck brand ratchets you can pick up a set of 3. I use my 3/8 and 1/4" daily and they're great.

coupon columbusday gives free shipping on orders over $99 [does not stack with $5 off].

The sears site seems to of also been updated to auto search every store's inventory in a given radius by just entering your zip code. Makes tracking down items easier.

Apparently these Lyon cabinets are on sale at Amazon as well, but I don't know what their normal prices are.

Irwin 4-pc metric adjustable wrench set for $15 (info)

It's reported that there are only 14 left in stock with no more on the way. (EDIT: DEAL DEAD!!)
direct amz linky

imho not as versatile as ordinary adjustable wrenches, but if you mainly use metric fasteners, these should be more precise.

With luck someone can use this. Eastwood is selling their 5" curved jaw locking pliers for $4.99 each, about half price.

No doubt these are Chinese COO, but I have a pair of their dimpling pliers and they're not bad for PRC. Eastwood seldom has great markdowns, and usually their shipping kills any bargain you might stumble across, but until Dec 31st they're doing free shipping.

The discount code for this is 1EM0806A

Mine showed up last week. Great deal, but I wouldn't buy them again. The adjusting method is "weird" and takes two hands. The fit is great once you get the right size, but in most cases I'll probably still just grab a standard adjustable wrench.

I haven't tried the wrenches myself and am surprised that it takes 2 hands to adjust.

If you're not happy, send 'em back, saying that nowhere in the product description does it say that the adjustment mechanism requires two hands. Or you can keep them for emergencies. Amazon's great like that, even when they only "fulfill" orders.

LOL "Your other thread got deleted". Gosh I can't imagine why. I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say your post here, and likely this whole thread, will also be deleted.

And you still won't know why.

Local stores show pricing at $70. Unless I'm mistaken, that's what the reversible ratchet sets used to cost. In-store might be 50% x $70 = $35. That's if the discount is online and in-store and not online-only. Might be worth a quick call to the local store.
