Found date stamp tell me about it

Bought a box the other day
On the back the stamp is
KRA-61C or G really looks like a C
Snap-On Tool Corp
KENOSHA WISC. USA 76
1213937
So was it made in 76
Is this a Goverment contract box
Gratefull for any info

Look at Collecting Snap On.

Yours is a KRA 61C model that was made in 1976.

It was sold to anyone, not just the government.

I looked on the Snap-on site I did not see a C on date codes thats why I thought it might be a G But it sure looks like a C to me
Thought it was a good deal Going to clean it up and paint it

The "C" is a revision to the original box. Each time they make a change (trim, hinge, weld pattern, etc.) they will up the revision number. That way you know what to order if you ever need any parts for the box.
