The Dewalt drill at Lowes online shows $199 for me but in the store they were $79. Might be worth a stop at your Lowes B&M.

Shows as $79 for me, but two questions...does it include the second battery? The web site is silent to this...

And the reviews are terrible on the Link you provided. I thought the 18v li-ion were well respected, but now i think that might just be the XRP. I have a 14.4 XRP for 6 or 7 years that has been awesome.

I have one and it is great.
It includes the Drill, 2 Batteries and the charger. All in a Dewalt hard case(Kind of crappy though).
It comes with 2 Compact Li-ion batteries .The only difference is the XRP is a longer life battery but also 1/3 larger in size. I would use the cost savings to pick up a XRP battery if you need a longer charge.

My local Lowes had on clearance the Dewalt DCD760KL 18-Volt 1/2" Compact "Lithium Ion" Cordless Drill with 2 batteries, charger, and case for $79. Regular price was $220. Looks like they just marked them down today from $199 to $79.

Just ordered mine. Got it for 39.80!! Yahooooo:beer:

I didn't get the $40 deal but I did get it for $84 and change out the door.

Super killer deal. Thanks!

It is going to turn into a non stock item. My store does not have any to put on sale, and said last one sold in Aug. That *****.

I picked up the $17.50 GearWrench 56 pc Ratcheting Screwdriver set at Sears after dinner tonight, just a first impression, wow the handles are BIG. Suits me fine as my hands are big, but I wasn't expecting them to be so large, like the big 3 sided Snapon.

Fit into the handles is a round shaft cut down slightly to a sq 1/4 drive with a ball detent. Guessing nothing but GearWrench will fit, which I think ***** compared to using something like 1/4 hex. Would also be nice if there were some shorter shafts, maybe there are with the stubby version which I will end up getting if I like these.

Bits will go in my drawer of misc bits, sockets in with spares.

So far so good for the money, but I can tell if I like them I may end up buying something farther up the food chain.

Snap-On shafts fit too, for what it's worth, but you'll find a good variety under Gearwrench, Kobalt, Napa and other rebrands too if you want them. There's a few kits on Cripe Distributing's page for under $20. It's nearly an exact copy of the Snap-On system, but the F/R selector moves backwards.

I don't have any deals to add, so I'll throw in a plug for Harry Epstein's. They have pretty good prices on Norseman drill bits.

Maybe i missed it earlier in the thread but, do you have a link to the set you're talking about?

Woot.com is having a woot-off, usually some tools and garage stuff in there somewhere but intermingled with useless **** and geek toys. For anyone unfamiliar, the woot-off is a single item sale of unspecified quantity until it's gone and replaced by a new item, and it can be very fast paced and competitive, especially when there's a "bag of ****" involved somewhere. Good luck.

I just bought one for 79.60 not my normal lowes but for 2 Li-Ion batteries I will travel a few miles to go get this later today. almost bought 2 and am still thinking about it. for the batteries alone if you have 18v dewalt tools this is a good deal. bet you can get something out of the drills if you wanted to sell them as bare tools on ebay

That's a good deal.

One warning, though - make sure you have a use for it before you buy. Mine's been sitting unused in a drawer for a couple of years now.

Also, Bosch PS60 recip saw deal (details and link to preview and video). $150 is a so-so price, but it's still a ~$25 savings off others' pricing.

My Amazon insane discount search (link in my signature) hasn't been turning up anything too hot lately, so either the deals have dried up a bit, or you guys are snatching everything up before I could find 'em for myself!

For those of you who are in the LA area, and especially the inland empire area, Tools-R-Us is having one of its huge "everything in the store 20% off" sales this Friday (10/14) from 5:00P-9:00P. I believe that the sale continues the rest of the weekend, but the deals are best on Friday evening. The store itself is pretty awesome - they carry nearly the full lines of Bosch, Makita, Porter-Cable, DeWalt, Jet, etc. Worth the drive, especially if you're just used to HD/Lowes. It's in Montclair, which is about 45 east of downtown LA. Here's a link to the store. See you there!

Stuey - glad i'm not the only one! It seemed like/is an awesome deal... but the jumbo size of the driver makes it pretty impractical most of the time. The SO ratcheting driver is much better IMO, albeit different leagues.

True, but for <$20, you get the GW T-handle driver and a nice portable kit. That's the justification I used at the time. If I recall correctly, I sent one or two sets out as giveaways as well, don't remember.

But these days if I need a ratcheting driver, I use something better. And if I need a T-handle, I use a manual bit holder or driver.

Talked to a few Lowes for the drill and found one that came up with the $79 price but did not have any in stock. All the other Lowes that had stock on hand would only ring up at $159. Store manager stated that it happens when the item goes into 'non-stock' status at some stores while others continue to carry the item as 'in-stock'.

Found a way to get the drill for $63.68 by going through 1/2 the check out process using the Lowes of Culpeper, VA (zip 22701) then open another browser window to change the pick-up to my local store (which I verified had the drill in stock first), and then going back to complete the check-out.

Steps (taken from SD):

1. Check your local store for stock, don't order more than there is...
2. Change zipcode to (Store with correct price and in stock).
3. Add # to cart. (This is window 1)
4. Click 'Pick Up In Store'
5. Click 'Continue Checkout'
6. Sign in or click 'Continue Checkout' on the right.
7. Leave page open...
8. Open Window 2.
9. Open Lowes.com
10. Change store to your local store.
11. Go back to Window 1.
12. Fill out your Billing Address and info... hit 'next.'
13. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Done.

That certainly seems like a good deal for the price.

GearWrench 56 pc Ratcheting Screwdriver set $17.50 is a good deal, what remains to be seen is if its a tool that gets used.

I don't put much value on the bits and sockets since I don't plan on leaving the kit in the box and have plenty of both. What I paid for were the two handles and 4 blades. Looks like the two 3.5" blades and a stubby handle will be another $20 or so, and the nut setters $45, which is not good, but I'm still looking.

Good news is if I like the "idea", but want a better or different handle, the blades are supposed to work with Snapon handles.

Looks like they fixed it. Alternatively, you can use the Lubbock, TX store (zip 79424) to get it for $80.00.

I just did that too, seemed to work, I got my confirmation e mail,
It says "Your Lowes.com Order Confirmation"
Is that the one I print and take to the store, or do they send me one like Sears does, that says your order is ready to be picked up?
Now, I take it they will hold one for me?
For the hell of it, I was checking a few other stores in my area, they said my store had 9 left, but when I went back to "My" store they said it was no longer
available on line. Wonder if they got wise to this?

Oh I know, where do you pick this up at Lowes, Just go to the Customer service?
I have to wait till tomorrow so I can forward the e mail to work tonight so I can print it, I don't have a printer here.

OK They just sent another ones the title is
Internet Pickup Confirmation for Order XXXX

I think they cut this deal off, I cant even change my zip anymore. It just shows available stock near me. I went into private browsing and still nothing
