Hey all! I am currently running copper pipe for hooking up my air compressor throughout the garage. I will be installing quick disconnects at my bench and along one wall. What I am looking for is flexable lines I can use to connect the compressor to the regulator/separator and at the grit blast cabinet. I'm looking for something fairly cheap yet durable. Hardware store has been no help or Lowes/Homedepot. I can get them done at a place that does hydralic lines, but I'm sure it will be a hit in the wallet. Any help is appreciated. I hope to post soon some pics as I get near completion.

How about buying a 25 ft air hose and just cut and splice in the ends you want? I was in a shop a week or so ago and thats pretty much what theirs were.

I used a corrugated copper connector that is used to connect a hot water heater. Works great and is cheap.

I would caution you that those are flex only to make up for the original fit-up (misalignment) and not intended to be used in a situation where constant cycling (vibration) is present. Copper becomes harder/stiffer with age and also with bending/flexing until it passes stiff and reaches brittle at which point it fails/ruptures due to fatigue which is NOT GOOD for a high pressure air line. Keep in mind also that the original intent for that product was 'water pressure' at what, maybe 40 to 50 psi.

I had a new clutch line made at a local hydraulic shop cause NAPA couldn't do it. It ended up being 10 bucks cheaper than NAPA anyway. So you may be suprised.

Go to a Rubber Belt & Hose Supply house, you can buy hose by the foot. We use PushLoc Hose & fittings (plugs) to tie in to airline to the compressor and to other point of use. Pushloc threaded plugs that go on to ends of a hose are around $5.00 each. Hose is about $2.00 a foot.

I second the piece of airhose with fittings. Never a problem here.

How long does it have to be? A short hydraulic line should not be that much. Since they are designed for 2500-3000#, they will hold 200# probably for your lifetime. I cut a piece from a busted line on a cylinder and just used 2 hose clamps on both ends and has lasted for 20 years so far.

Grainger sells airline fittings at about $1.50 a pop. they come in... 1/4 , pn 6x423, 1/2, pn 6x425, 3/8, pn 6x424. Made by Speedair. . What I like about them , is that they screw into the hose and can be reused

I had a 1/2" air hose made up at our local O'Riley's auto parts store last week . It was not expensive. Make sure you get a swivel on one end. They are a couple of bucks more per fitting. But you need one so you can attach and remove between your tank and your hard lines. A 3/8" line should be sufficient to supply a blast cabinet. You can make one out of a length of regular shop air hose. I installing a full sized ball valve at the drop that feeds your blast caninet. The foot valve will almost certainly leak and your compressor will cycle if you do not cut the air supply off when the unit is not in use.
