I am offering for sale 1/2" x 50 foot Magnetic Tape Rolls. These are BRAND NEW!!

Description:
Magnetic/Adhesive Tape, 1/2″ x 50-ft. Roll. Magnetic Tape is a flexible magnet mounted on a thin polyester film which has been coated on one side with an aggressive rubber based pressure sensitive adhesive. Tape is supplied self-wound on a semi-bleached kraft paper liner. Easy to cut and trim using just a pair of scissors.

They have adhesive on one face (under the white paper liner) that allows you to stick a length of tape to many smooth surfaces like paper, wood, plastic, glass, etc. You can then attach your item magnetically to any ferrous metal surface like a refrigerator or other appliance, vehicle, toolbox, etc. and the magnets will hold your items in place safely and without damage.

These magnets are the A-B style, so each roll has a small indent down the center that separates the two poles:

Unlike some magnetic strips, two pieces of this tape can be positioned to hold to each other. This effectively more than doubles the holding power!

These strips are about double the thickness of a standard refrigerator magnetic, and will therefore hold about double the weight. While they probably won't hold a screwdriver against a vertical surface by the shaft, they *would* keep your tools from rolling around in your toolbox. And they are handy for a thousand other uses.

These rolls typically sell for around $20 plus shipping. I found some on the internet for as low as $15 plus shipping. My company no longer uses them, so YOU are gonna get a great deal! I have a small pallet full that I am offering to GJ members, first come - first served, and when they are gone they are gone!

Edit 1-22-11:

I need these to move faster than they are - I need my space back - so I am sweetening the deal:

Was ONE (1), now TWO (2) rolls (1/2" x 50 feet) shipped via Priority Mail = $10

-or-

Was Three (3), now FIVE (5) rolls (1/2" x 50 feet) shipped via Priority Mail = $20

Note: If you already sent payment, don't worry - your order quantity will AUTOMATICALLY be increased to the new amount. No orders have shipped yet, as I am waiting for the USPS to deliver my Priority Mail boxes. Our local branch doles them out one at a time and tells you to order online for quantity.

Payment by cash, check, or money order is preferred. I really try to avoid PayPal after they tried to rip me off for $3800!!!

To order, send an email to 'me' at usmac.net. DO NOT SEND A PM AS IT WILL NOT BE SEEN!

NOTE: I will also trade for new or 'like new' gearwrench sets, ignition wrench sets, or Craftsman 6-point socket sets. Email me with what you have to trade.

I got a reply via email from him. He had some health issues and was unable to get to the orders... He said he will do his best to have his wife get them out today if possible. But I'm sure at this point no one is in a super rush anyway?

I understand **** happens, no harm no foul I suppose.

Sorry for my absence from the forum and lack of response. As Jeff posted for me, I had some health issues and was flat on my back.

Anyway, I was able to get the magnetic tape rolls out today. Everything that had been paid for was shipped. However, if you ordered and paid for 2 rolls, you are actually getting 3 and if you ordered and paid for 5, you are getting 6.

I hope this at least partially makes up for my delay. Let me know if you have any questions?

I received my 2 rolls very promptly from the original poster. Placed order on Tuesday and it was shipped on Wednesday and arrived on Friday. Very happy with the turn around.

Bump to top...

I opened a roll for myself today and put multiple strips of the magnets onto the back of one of those giant outlet strips designed to hold the transformers many devices use.

Slapped it onto the side of my desk and it's holding nicely!

One trick I learned - the back of the outlet strip was not perfectly flat (it had some words formed into it) so the tape wasn't sticking as well as I wanted it to - at first. I grabbed a heat gun (a hair dryer would work) and warmed up the foam adhesive on the magnetic strip just a little, then pressed it onto the plugstrip firmly using a round stick kinda like a rolling pin. Made a WORLD of difference in the hold.

Anything ordered today or tomorrow and paid for with a PayPal GIFT (because I only have a personal account) will ship on Friday.

Took my open roll out to the shop today and cut some pieces to put on the backs of various remote controls I have - stereo, tv, cable box, air cleaner, etc. I have a metal First Aid cabinet right inside the door, and I decided that sticking the remotes up there with a magnet would be a great idea. Know what? It was!

The bad part is that I only used about 2 feet off the 50 foot roll today, and maybe 3 or 4 feet the other day. I still have over 40 feet left over to use on something else! Hmm....

Bump to top. Still have rolls available, and could ship on Monday - if I haven't forgotten about another holiday.
