Hi RED.

I was looking for some ideas for my own garage project and happened upon this post. I have read over it a few times. First let me congratulate you on your baby.
Next your garage build is very impressive as are the people who are commenting on your Thread.
I have been building my Project, a Honda Bobber for the last 3 years. but due to commitments to work and family, things pertaining to garage hobbies have a way of making it on the back burner.
That said I will have some time this winter to work on my Garage. I have built a work bench and shelves. I was looking for some ideas to pull and have found so many ideas on the garage Journal.
I am writing on this thread to you because it was your thread that made me join this Group. I hope to post my own pics soon.

Attila thank you for your very kind words - they are most appreciated! To be honest I feel like a bit of a slacker right now on the garage stuff since I haven't had a major, major update for quite a while now.

That being said, I'm planning to use Christmas break to finally start construction on my work bench. It is desperately needed.

I would highly encourage you to start a thread here - you will get a ton of ideas and very helpful suggestions!

BTW, after our discussions on the DJ saw, I picked up a DJ table saw arbour bracket assembly to modify to see if my ideas will work. No, wait. To demonstrate that my ideas will work. So, if you happen by any barrel nuts that are spares in your searches, keep me in mind.

After that, I want to get some insulation up on the inside of the garage door.

First Jeff did it, then Jack...I gotta get on the bandwagon while the gettin's good!

My plan is to bust out the workbench this winter so I have somewhere to store projects instead on other tools (starting to really dislike that!)

Really Awesome job. I like how you went the extra mile to use vintage switchplates. I noticed that you have a homecraft scrollsaw. I picked one up for free a few weeks ago in the metal scrap pile at my local town dump. It works!

I'm looking for the Craftsman-badged version of this one. I've read of some discussions of them, but they must be pretty rare, as I have never even seen a legitimate photo of a Craftsman-badged one out in the wild. However, finding one isn't the real battle. Having the budget for one, and the floor space...well I don't know how I would do it.

But, if I actually found one, I'm not sure how I wouldn't, either

There is a planer basically the same as that in the woodshop at my school. There is a duct on the top of the planer for dust collection and the switch is different but otherwise it is the same.

First of all, THANK YOU to all for your super kind and generous comments about the garage. It is a huge work in progress and it is your encouragement that helps to keep me going! You are very much appreciated!

Secondly, I apologize of the lack of a timely response, especially since I told everyone there would be an update on Friday. We left for a family trip and I didn't have time to do a full write up, so sorry for leaving everyone hanging!

Dave I think this is most of the reason I have taken to using my crackberry for all my pics . I have a card reader built into the laptop out here so I take the pic . Then simply pull the card from the phone , stick it into the adapter and stuff it in the laptop . No cables to loose .
