GEARZ was on this year on ESPN2, BUT the schedule was not "scheduled". Different days, times, etc. Now, it may be routine. Same old Stacey.

Decent enough show. The only problem is that there is less an less "real racing" on Speed anymore, just more random half hour shows. I watch it less an less.

To offer the counterpoint, I enjoy SPEED's garage/wrenchin' shows (My Classic Car; Car Crazy; Two Guys Garage; American Muscle Car; and Dream Car Garage) more than the racing and get hacked off when they run the racing over the top of the scheduled shows I'm trying to watch/tape.

Now, ESPN2? I'm about as fed up with their haphazard scheduling as a person can get. I don't have Tivo so I cannot set up a search to do an easter-egg hunt for the car content shows I like. I used to be a big fan of the Mothers Car Polish Show Series but I got so frustrated with their disrespectful scheduling that I've all but boycotted the channel.

As for Stacy David, I don't care what channel he's on, as long as I can set the VCR. I rank his show near the top, for the info, tech, and tips I get from it. Lookin' forward to having him back.

Put him back on Trucks! They ruined trucks, and many of their other shows, recently with new crews. Stacy may have lost some steam but he did the best work and had the best personality out of all them!

Agreed. What's with Mr. Clean hosting Trucks now? Out of all of Spikes' Sunday morning fab/car show lineup Trucks was my favorite, in large part becuase Stacey was a good host.

My new favortie now is a tie between Muscle Car and Extreme 4x4. Jessie Combs is hot!:pimpflash. Think she is uh... available?:lol_hitti

I agree, Trucks is terrible without Stacy. I do think it was a good idea to get rid of the "Goldberg Wannabe" on trucks though.

Though not the same type of car show that Stacey does, my favorite has got to be Top Gear.

I also like My Classic Car and Dream Car (the closest thing to Top Gear in the states).

What I don't like about some of the shows (and Two Guys does this a lot) is when the build stuff with access to tools that we normally can get a hold of. Two Guys had a fellow from Moser on about rebuilding a rearend, which is good info for us shadetree guys, but I had to turn it off the second time I heard him say "Now we take this custom built guage"

Well I will watch stacey reguardless of which channel he is own. I bought the
1996 mustang project night mare from horse power tv and got to meet stacey and Joe elmore when I picked the car up and he is as down to earth as anyone you will meet. and I agree trucks went down hill since he left.

Two guys used to be called shade tree mechanics. I would laugh every time I watched the show they had all the up to date scan tools and lifts enough stuff to make any dealership jelous.

Trucks isn't too bad of a show with Kevin, but with Stacy on the show, he could cram about an hour and a halfs worth of show into the half hour segment. He "made" the show what it is. Glad he's coming back on "somewhere" again.

I used to watch two guys garage years ago. I'm tired of hearing their paid commercials though. I want to hear real analysis of producs and someone call "BS" or give a comparable product from a wrencher's perspective. If I want to hear one sided propaganda I'll watch infomercials all day.

What he said! **** all those shows. I am sorry I even mentioned Speed in my other thread. If PBS or the History Channel can do documentarys about Bonneville or the Transcontinental Quest in the Teens then at least our "automobile oriented" Channels could step up and do the same. And Car Crazy is gay........

That's because it's their #1 show. Pinks All Out is better than Pinks. IMO.
Stacey is definitely the man. Glad Gearz is going into season 2.

Well that was pretty much it. I seen the car on ebay and it never met the reserve. So I emailed the seller which was Joe Elmore from the show and asked him if he was going to relist it and if so how much his reserve was. I told him I didn't have the money to purchase the car I was just curious because I seen the car built on the show. He replyed with his Phone # saying call me. So I called him and he asked me how much could I give for the car I told him I couldn't even afford what the final bid was on the car and he told me that was not what he asked and I told him what I could do and he asked me If I could come and get it Friday. I said I could be there tonight if I needed to be. He said no Friday was fine. I had a friend drive me to Nashville Tenn from Gastonia NC to RTM Productions We were in the parking lot waiting on Joe to get there Here comes stacey walking across the parking lot helping some guys load up a jeep Wagoneer that he had built on the show. We got out and talked to him for a minute then Joe Elmore showed up with the car and we Got to check out the Horse power TV and the trucks set. Take some pictures pay him some money and head home. Both of them were pretty cool guys Stacey was in a hurry but he did take a few minutes to take a picture with my son and show us the sargent rock truck and the wicked willis and crazy horse bronco. He was wearing cut off shorts and a flannel shirt with no sleeves on his day off I thought that was pretty cool. He went out and jumped in a dodge truck he built on the show and left. We hung out with Joe Elmore untill his friend came and picked him up he gave me all the shows where the car was built on. This was when they were moving from the old building to the new building that the power block is on now. We left and headed back to NC and I have the car setting in my garage now. I have an open invite to come watch them film a show I wonder if I went up there they would let me?

They are a riot.

Well, being an "old timer" I decided to see what all the buzz was about with regard to Mr. David. So I tuned in to the Speed channel this morning. I had my coffee in hand and wanted to see what exciting things were in store.

I was a bit disappointed, the first half of the show looked like a commercial for Year One and the Burt Reynolds signature Trans Am (nice, but not too exciting). The second half was a very short intro to basic English Wheel techniques. This was interesting, but lasted only eight minutes. In all, the show was mostly commercials.

I'm sure he's talented and I have seen some of his excellent work at SEMA, but if the current format of the show is any indication, the commercial time will require most of the half hour format.

I'll tune in again and hope they show a build, -- or something having remotely to do with building a vehicle.

I find it interesting that Spike still shows his Trucks! episodes in reruns, years after they replaced him with new hosts - I watched one this morning.

I'll set the DVR for the show, I had it set up for the old Trucks show and for when Gearz was on the deuce.. He is a good host, but I like the current guys on Trucks now and think they do a fine job. I will miss the fellow who just left Muscle Cars because he was entertaining and knowledgeable and didnt talk down to the audience. I only watch Extreme 4x4 to see Jessie. I miss Chuck from Horsepower TV but still tune in from time to time. Dream Car garage is a favorite of mine too.

i liked the tech of his shows better, but his "hosting" was just uncomfortable. he did have a pretty bitchin mullet though.

either way, extreme 4x4 is more fab and tech than all of them. if i watch trucks! install a power programmer or airbag suspension one more time, my head is gonna explode.

Yes, he is. And if we want to start talking about people's bad hair choices and mullets, I think he's right up there with Stacey. :D

That dude (new guy on trucks) sported a monster mullet on a restoration show on DIY. I thought he was much better host on that DIY show than TRUCKS. Too many wow's and ooohhhhhh yyyaaaaahhhhh's on TRUCKS now. He is an ok host but without his WT power mullet he blends in with all the other turds on powerblock nowadays.

Stacey David is great and powerblock ***** now. Extreme4x4 tries but cannot even compete with old TRUCKS reruns with Stacey.

Stacey,
My wife and I have a 71 Mach 1 we bought out of a junk yard for 500.00. We took it to NADC in Nashville. They striped the car, did some metal patching on it, then painted it a corvette blue on the bottom, a ford silver on top, with a charcoal stripe dividing the two colors. Rick Harris hand pin striped the charcoal in apple geen. The interior black was put in the car buy the students there. They then redid the brake system front and rear updating rotors and calipers. We now have 20X10 wheels on the rear with 275X40-20, and 18X8 wheels front with 245X45-18. Torque thrust with three bar spinners. The motor 351 was rebuilt by ICE in Clarksville, they put a little more piston and camshaft. Its been fun and expensive. The students at NADC did a great job, Thanks to Tommy Curtis and the instructors. After a few more parts and sound system we'll be finished.

Damn Lloydthumper, thats pretty cool. Can you go on the show and tell them to do a remake on my 15window deluxe VW bus? I've entered the contest, and sure I have a chance in hell? Which car did you buy, I might of skipped that part.
