Autozone carries Duralast impacts sockets. They have 1/2 shallow drive metric and standard sets for $19.99 each. How good are these impact sockets? Are they garbage? Does anyone have them?

They are your typical cheap impact sockets. Not great, but not horrible either
.
They are re-branded Great-neck, not the orignal Duralast. They are CR-V steel, which makes for a brittle impact socket when compared to CR-MO which is a better steel overall for impact sockets.

They also are only available in limited sizes (10-19mm for 1/2" drive) with no single store stock.

However, the OEM industrial brand impact sockets sold by Autozone are FANTASTIC. They are thin wall, CR-MO, have lock grooves and come in both 3/8" and 1/2" drive (deep and short). They go on sale for 1/2 price from time to time which makes them about the same price as the Duralast.

I think I might have some Duralast sockets I got as a gift. Autozone carries Duralast like Sears 'carries' Craftsman - it's their own brand.

I agree with this, They would do in a pinch for sure. However, If you are spinning them everyday, you are going to get some wear and then tear...
