Is there any place on the web to get repair manuals free? I am looking for a 2008 F-150 and a 2008 focus repair manual.

I've purchased most of my Haynes and Chiltons manuals on Amazon or similar sites used. I pay typically around $2 - $5 in the used condition. If your looking for the actual Ford repair manuals, they are more expensive, but can be found on Ebay.

Also, I would look on model specific forums, like Focusfanatics or F150online for how-to's written by people on the site. I replaced the timing belt on my 01 Focus a few days ago using a thread posted on the Focus Fanatics site. Along with the Haynes manual and a video on Youtube, I was able to do it right the first time and saved myself about $300.00.

I'd be interested in this too; I just bought myself an 81 Mustang.

79+ Mustangs are the most modded cars ever produced. No less that 50 forum sites exist, which have plenty of posts that have done everything you ever need to repair on a Mustang. Buy a used Haynes manual off Amazon, then go to www.corral.net and start searching for the info you need.

^X2 The Haynes/Chilton manuals will take care of the basic things and then the corral has enough information in its database to build literally any kind of fox body you want.

Factory books are well worthwhile, but they're not supposed to be free. If you find one free odds are good that someone's copyright was violated to bring it to you that way.

I frequent my local used bookstores, and sometimes I find factory books. I'm mostly looking for Chrysler books, but they do have a lot of Ford and GM, and a spattering of imports.

New you can easily pay $100 for the documentation for a given vehicle. Used from specialty dealers usually isn't a lot better either.

I got really lucky getting manuals for my Crown Vic on eBay, I paid less than $30 WITH shipping! (I bought them 1 at a time, it's cheaper than if someone has the whole set because they just want to get rid of the oddball) Helm is for factory manuals, I forgot to mention eBay and I don't know why!

I got a 2002 -2004 Ford/Lincoln/Mercury all makes and models factory service manual on CD for less than $10 shipped on ebay. You have to set your PC calender back to 2005 to use the disc. Then print out to pages you need. Disc says Workshop, Wiring (EVTM), PC/ED, Oasis.
