I really hope that someone didn't see all the new attention and decide to hike prices in response.

I'm sure some (or perhaps many) of the mfr's and resellers have google alerts or the like set up. Whether they can plow through it all or not, is another question.

What is it that their doing to perhaps shoot themselves in the foot (or feet :) )? Raise prices?
Yea.

Here 10 people are yes, 25 people are maybe, and around 20 ppl contacted me privately via the blog with desires to buy 1 or 2. The price more than doubled, and I doubt anyone's going to buy one now at the new price.

Some suppliers will raise prices when they see an increase in interest and activity, but a 130% bump in price? That's just greedy. Unless it was an automatic bump, which also doesn't make sense. Who lets their automated price setting system swing prices by so much?

There was a lot of pressure from European dealers to get the Facom US and Euro pricing more closely aligned. The big price increases occurred approx 2 weeks ago. I currently have them at $99.00 plus $10 flat rate shipping. Wish I had bought some at $49 when Stanley's website had "pricing issues".

Prime Tools in the UK is £62.39 plus shipping (approx $100) on this item. The $115 Facom US list price at Stanley Supply is still approx $30 less than the current suggested UK retail price. SD

I bought one of them cantilever ones from Amazon, with shipping 40.00 or so. I don't like it, too hard to open/close useing handles like it does for me. Also for my use a Kennedy style cantilever is what I need. I was going to use it for my "trailer" tool box which holds extra wire, reflectors, switches, plugs 6pin, 4 and others, crimpers and meter ect. So yard sale time for it.

My box finally shipped today (12/28/2011), much later than the expected 12/6/2011 ship date, and is scheduled to be delivered next Wednesday. I've had a few emails back and forth from Stanley about it, and I have to admit they have been pretty awesome. I just hope UPS doesn't destroy it on the way...I don't want to wait another 2 months for another box!

Mine arrived earlier this month.

UPS didn't destroy it, but it looks like it got dinged up a little enroute from France to the USA. There's a small bulge I flattened out with a plastic mallet, but I'm a little worried about the paint flaking off in 2, maybe 3 spots due to shallow cracks.

I emailed Stanley Supply but nobody got back to me.

These were on sale last week for $85 + $10 shipping and the occasional one that comes in with the bulge in the bottom of the box (like Stuey's) sells for $65.
