They carry them at every Sears I;ve been in. Both in set form (both SAE and metric) and in open stock.
They are no longer US made but they do carry them.

Considering how worthless the Sears website is, they probably wouldn't show up on a search. I have looked for tools I know Sears has but they did not appear when I searched the useless website.

I've seen the flare nut wrenches in all the Sears stores near me.
Unfortunately, they're no longer made in USA, so you might as well go to Harbor Freight and get them, since they'll be less expensive there.

If the store doesn't stock it, you can't order online for in-store pickup.
Sears doesn't offer a ship-to-store feature - they offer you the ability to pick it up at a stocking local store.

Thats the other thing. I have used cheap flare nuts, its a huge pain and it WILL destroy fasteners quickly! They flex like crazy and round off nuts.
Flare nuts have to be a high quality tool, no way around it.

I have the 9 piece set but i added a couple of missing sizes. They are American made and of excellent quality. I have been using them for years and have never had an issue with spreading or fastener fit.

Which ones, the raised panel or the "pro" series? I have both but I bought them years ago when both were USA (Danaher?) made. I haven't had any problems with either set.

Most stores around me only carry the china made fully polished that replaced the usa made professionals. The stores around me do not carry the usa made raised panel flare nut wrenches. That could be part of the problem you are having if you are indeed wanting the raised panel versions.
From what I have experienced, and I haven't used the raised panel flare nut wrenches, but my raised panel wrenches are significantly better in quality than my pro polished ones in terms of strength. I would buy the RP flare nut wrenches over the polished ones unless you can find the old SK ones.
They did offer a 10 pc set that came with the 16x18mm, but it appears as though that has been discontinued. Not sure how often you'd use that size though, and they are expensive to buy out of the set ($18 a pop or so).

never,ever,ever, use craftsman flare nut wrenches,they spread and make a simple job a real ***** when they round off the fittings. that is one of the places where you can not compromise or you will regret it.trust me.lol.

I cant find any single open stock of the raised panel flare nut wrenches anywhere on there web site , in an old catalog that had open stock listed for the pros but not RP or in any stores. I am trying to fill in a couple of missing sizes and have been relying on ebay. Sure would like to buy new open stock singles though.

I noticed the same thing.
Saw them in the store and thought about getting a set. Picked them up, saw where they were made, and couldn't justify the price.

I was changing the rubber brake lines on my truck this past weekend. I reached for my craftsman ones just because my snap on set was still in a box (used from ebay). Started to round the fitting stopped went and grabbed my snap on and undid it with no problems. On the rear one too ended up using my Snap on as it was more of a pain than the one I started to round. If you can wait I would buy used snap on.
No I must admit my truck is a 53 so it was pretty stuck but the snap on saved my ***. I was afraid I was going to have to replace the whole metal line.

HF Wrenches Junk!
I got a set of HF Metric Flare Nut Wrenches, which are junk! Also the set does not include a 9mm-11mm wrench, which is really annoying. Since that is a common size.... and a size I need for a job! I did pay $8 for them!

All the Sears near me sell them single and in sets. But I personally have always used one or two adjustable wrenches for flare connections on lines. Or a stubby appropriate sized open-end wrench too.

I used a 16X18 mm flare wrench on the power steering lines on my '95 Buick. I bought the 5 piece Craftsman set for I think around $30. Yeah they're made in China. But none of the local auto parts stores, including NAPA, had any that big. Clearance on the power steering rack was pretty tight and regular open end wrenches wouldn't work. I do have some S-K flare wrenches in SAE that I picked up at the pawn shop for $2 a piece.

Flare nut wrenches are definitely one area where you don't want to compromise and Snappy makes the best ones I've ever used. Cornwells are really nice too.
