Saltus No.1000

I've got a set of old metric spanners. They were bought by my father sometime in the 60's as he had a Simca Arounde. This was a French car, with metric fasteners, in a country that had predominantly British cars. They are marked MOD. SALTUS No1000. I know Saltus is a German tool company. Has anyone got anymore info on them?

My father's next car was a Simca 1000. I learnt to drive in that years later.

I note that a combination spanner is still a No.1000.
