No way am I closing this down. When you are overamped enough with testosterone to be able to rock a pink box without worry, then you don't suffer the slings and arrows, you know?

You guys are a bunch of haters, Bull will soon be closing his own thread because of it. Good job bull, it doesn't look bad IMO.

I don't see any hate.

I see a bunch of good ribbing and badgering from a forum of "tool guys" (and gals) that have no idea as to the whats, whos and whys behind the pink box.
Sorry. Hehehehehehehehehe.

And i think that sk farmer got the rest of the question correct.

LOL.

Bull, I find it hilarious that nobody here has figured out the real reason for the pink. I find the many gay and metrosexual comments amazing. Some people are truly clueless.:lol_hitti

That's a joke son ..... You know ........

Nice work!

I was wondering if it went pink because above the made in USA mark is a heart shaped imprint.

In any case, maybe consider taping off the area adjacent to the handles and latches and wire wheeling the pink paint off the handles and latches. Makes it look like a nice accent when the hardware is "silver" in color.

How much did it cost to get it Powder coated, besides the $80 for the Powder?

Zero. He just asked me to pay for the powder. If the color had been an in-stock deal, it would have been done for free. He did the same thing for me years ago when I needed some G-body suspension stuff done. The owner of the shop is married to a lady I used to work with. I guess he likes me.

I'm sure if I kept bringing stuff, he'd have to charge me at some point. Maybe I should bring this thing over next:

I had been told on here long ago that the heart was a Stanley logo, so I then assumed Stanley was the manufacturer of this box. But someone just told me that while the hardware might be Stanley, that doesn't mean the box is. So, I have no idea who made it!

And then fill it up with their pink tools...and socks.

But my oh my, that would be a budget buster!

Wouldn't be that hard on the budget, they only offer them once a year I believe and only a few each year.

Got my wife some of the pink socks, she loves them!!

Pink it´s my new obsession
Pink it´s not even a question
Pink on the lips of your lover, ´cause
Pink is the love you discover
Pink as the bing on your cherry
Pink ´cause you are so very
Pink it´s the color of passion
`Cause today it just goes with the fashion

Nice, I painted my daughter's car that color then she asked me to sell it for her. Excellent theft deterrent - paint (or powder coat) all your guy stuff pink!

I once bought pink extension cords for work, no other colors were available that day, I managed to keep those for almost 2 years!!! Nobody wanted to use them when they asked for a cord. I still have one and just yesterday I was sent out to buy cords, guess what color I bought?!! PINK!!!:lol_hitti

Well, here it is. I don't compose photos properly, so the colors are a bit off here, but you'll get the basic idea I hope :)

I didn't know the fellows were going to put a '69 Judge on the lid. It works out well, since I have a '69 GTO (he knew this). You can see that the front of the lid has my daughter's name painted on it. Well, it's actually done in red gold leaf with red outlining. Looks killer, but I don't have a pic from the front.

The guys who did this did a phenomenal job, and their generosity is now the stuff of legend, at least to me.

With "Big Daddy" Roth passing in '01 who is still painting and signing the roth name on the rat fink stuff? Is it an old employee or relative ?

Awesome by the way and damn you now I'm gonna have to make one up for my daughter but she is VERY anti pink so I can get away with lime green

I'm not sure how it works. Maybe the artists involved with this project can chime in. I think that they indicate that certain images, like RF, are copyrighted, then sign their own names next to the piece. Perhaps it's the same as a local band covering a Zeppelin song or something. :dunno:

Some painters are authorized to paint Roth images and they always use the Roth logo and copyright. Then, they sign their painting name.

Are these fellows considered to be something akin to a Jedi Elite or something? :lol_hitti

Yea found that one in the trash, looks a whole lot better now.

Heck, that makes this even more awesome to me. You found the box in the trash, sent it to me either for nothing or just for shipping, then I had it powder coated just for the cost of powder, then a couple/few awesome fellas customized it for me, and now my daughter has an heirloom piece which will remind her of her father's love long after he's dead and buried. Maybe great-grandkids will cherish it as a token of my existence, even.

What a beautiful string of events; thanks for being the first domino in the chain, ears.

Wow, that's badass Bull! Love the Roth-style graphics! I'd be afraid to use it for tools for fear of scratching the artwork.

Although I will do my best to raise her to be capable, I doubt my daughter is going to be a pro wrench or anything. I reckon that with just normal use, the box/powder/graphics should hold up ok. If it gets dinged, then I guess that will add to the patina and visual history of the box.

That's the hope, anyway!

I loved it as plain pink but now it rocks. I've always liked pink, even had a pink Caballero with clear griptape when I was 15.
