Bought some pegboard and started hanging up tools. Still got some left to go though.

Replaced a throttle position sensor, then cleaned out the secondary air injection tube (was nearly completely clogged with a big fat carbon-cake).

This on a Saturn SL1.

(thank goodness for impact tools)

Installed new boxes for upcoming reno. We put in something like 12 rectangle boxes, and four octogon boxes for lights. Still need three more rectangle boxes, another octo, and two 4" squar boxes for 220.

Feels good man.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Today and yesterday, installed 160' of air line in the shop. 80' of 1/2" copper and 80' of 1/2" black iron pipe. I've had the copper for years so I used it. Wouldn't do it at todays prices though. There are 12 places to plug into the system, 4 are dedicated for pneumatic machines, the rest are for smaller hand held tools. Had leak problems with some Chinese Homer Despot npt fittings. The threaded area was sort of hex shaped. Had to cut the pipe, replace the fittings and install unions. This cost an extra $20. and half a day of time.

Grand daughter came by today, huged my neck, asked if I would look at her ford ESCAPE. Oil and filter change, replace rear brakes, rotate tires, fix coolant leak, another hug and shes gone. It was great having her around the shop for a number of hours today.

Yesterday and today I finished installing the cabinets. I also got around to unpacking some of the boxes. It is starting to look better with some of the boxes gone. I still have a ton of things to do.

Scrubbed the epoxy floor in the garage after my brake plumbing project on my daughters 96 Olds. Put other stuff away and labled the drawers on my top box

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Worked on my daughter's car. Put on a new battery terminal, replaced the PCV hose.

Next I broke open a tool bag I haven't opened in around 17 years. I always thought Blackhawk was junk and I had a "cheap" set I bought back in 1986-87. The 1/4 ratchet was nearly frozen and would barely move. Pulled it apart and greased it up, this thing is now by far my most smooth acting 1/4 I own - VERY NICE! The rest of the set is pretty nice and surprisingly not too much is missing from the whole set. Everything was loose out of the case when I open the bag.

After that I cleaned up the mess.....got to keep what I have cleaned so far in my garage clean. Hopefully this week I will get pegboard up and the new box in (my dad is giving me his old box and I am getting my old box I had in high school back at the house......very cheap box, around 25 years old but in nice shape.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Finally hung up the liftmaster 3800 on my second door. I had a buddy hanging my doors while I was finishing the roof and he positioned the torsion bar too far over, so first I had to unwind and reposition....which involved cutting some rod for winding bars...which meant I had to clear a path to workbench...and then locate the tools for cutting the bars. Ive only had it for over a year now, now I see why I procrastinating so much.

Started cleaning and organizing stuff....again. Im not sure how I manage to drag out every tool I own, but it seems to be a regular event for me.

Hauled a few things into the attic and a few things down from the attic

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

looks great, how did you do it? Soap and water, polish, buffing compound?

Thanks! I had some guitar polish swirl remover laying around that I haven't used in a long time, so started with that to clean up the surface, then I would strategically and carefully use fine steel wool on parts that seemed stained with some foreign substance, then polish again, then get the remaining stuff off with a razor blade. Using the razor blade was like operating on someone - it takes a steady hand! Then a final polish.

It took forever, but it worked pretty good!

It has a few minimal rust spots below and I'm hoping to tackle those once the rest is done. Again, minimal touch up for preservation. I want to keep the original finish, but I also want to take care of the rust as well.

Can't wait to see what it looks like when the whole thing is done:)

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Last night I got started on cleaning out my girl's garage to make way for me moving in next month. She says I get carte blanch on the garage as long as I get her craft room build for her. Had to "explain" to her that I need to get the garage done first so that I have somewhere to build everything for the craft room. So far I think its working.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Built a work table, not as heavy duty as what I see here but I don't need it to be. I still did the fata$$ test and it did great. (fata$$ test was me jumping up on it, if it broke it would have been a little more flimsy than I wanted - result was it didn't budge.)

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Opened the door, rummaged through one of the many many cardboard boxes in there trying to find my drill bits, sighed and gave up and bought a new set. I really need to find a day to get in there and start organising and unboxing after the move but the house takes priority right now until after christmas.

I did find a couple of pictures I took yesterday of my old single sectional concrete garage when we were all packed up for the move. Tidiest its been since we moved in!

Hung and organized another cabinet, (still getting moved in) moving in is the worst because you still cant find the right tool for the job! but the more I do the easyer it gets with less to trip over and more tools located for the next project:bounce:

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

I haven't been on the forum in a while but I have been building the wife and I a new toy in between paying jobs. This will replace our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that we used to tow behind our coach and explore with.

This is my new daily driver and our Moab cruiser. I ought to start a build thread as I have been taking pictures along the way.

Re: what did you do in your garage today?

Damn thats a nice box, where did ya find it ?

oh yeah....stained some baseboards, hung the christmas lights and lawn ****

Absolutely Love that Box!! Very nice find.

Thanks guys! I got a tip from a local guy here who saw my garage build thread and knew I was doing a vintage Craftsman theme. He picked up a vintage Craftsman grinder and saw the box when he got it. To be honest, I saw the grinder on C/L and some other Craftsman tools but didn't go because they weren't 'necessities'. He kindly showed me this 'necessity':D

The guy has some other neat Craftsman stuff I may try and pick up.
