What is the price on blackfriday?

Does it work to remove lug nuts for changing tires

Sorry guys, I was gone all day.

Price was $89 on Black Friday

yes it removes lug nuts.

I rotated tires on both our vehicles the day after I got it. One car was torqued to 90 ft/lb the other to an even 100 ft/lb. It had no problem backing them off and putting them on. Still had plenty of battery juice left...Could have easily done another vehicle, maybe two. Planning on picking up the 1/4" impact for Christmas.

NiCad will do just fine......you can always upgrade to the Li charger/batteries too.

Now for the Hot Deal to stay on topic:

Saw this in an email today for $40

Damn it Stuey... Just when I bought that stupid craftsman tool bags for $10, now you have to go show this one...

I need to stop looking at the deals section

ToughBuilt bag w/ pouch (details via TG)

I've got one of these and like it quite a bit. It's not worth $40 imho, but $20 was a good price. $13 is hard to pass up, even with all I spent on ToughBuilt gear this month.

Without a doubt. TS3 quality is pretty good, but its main selling point is its near-indestructibleness. S95 sample photos make me drool a little.

I just got out of an all-day meeting and saw that they sold out already. =(

Yes I missed it too. Snooze = Lose.

I was hoping to get it as backup for my DSLR. Maybe next time. Glad you post these kind of info too. How can we post pics if we don't have cams. LOL

Picked up my C3 1/2 drive impact today, when I paid online I got a link to a $10 off $50 in store only tools coupon, so hunted around a bit.

$20 per set of 5 bolt outs that were like $8 at some point in the weekend were $15 in store.
Set of 12 SAE/Metric nut drivers that "were" likewise $18, back up to $19.
Ditto the 3x red handle Craftsman pry bars.

Was thinking skip it despite the coupon and being there, then found the C3 inflator for $20 (marked down from sale of $40 and regular I think around $60) (no battery or charger, but got one of each with Impact). Shelf tag by all the C3 accessories and batteries was $19.99, but none on the shelf, and I saw that price briefly online and then it poofed out of my cart Sunday. Store computer showed 4 in stock, but priced at $41. They looked high and low, tried will call, and finally a girl at the register said she knew where they were and found them on an end cap, posted and rang up as $41, no issue for override to $19 from other tag, plus my $10 off $50 coupon, YMMV.

Skipped the pry bars, my HF work fine, step up will need head striker.

Got the expansion set of bolt outs to go with basic box set I bought last year, C3 inflator, and nut drivers, about $48 with tax.

Craftsman C3 impact.
I think I've seen about 5 versions.
$170 normally kit is 1/2 drive, 2x Nicads, and charger.
$140 normally kit is 1/2 drive, 1x Nicad, and charger.
$120 normally kit is 1/2 drive, no battery or charger, but its a KIT since it includes an extension.
Plus at least two versions of the 1/4 hex drive model.

2x Nicad kit seems to always be online only, so pick discount OR free shipping coupon.

You guys think I will have a problem with the battery if I only use the C3 impact once in awhile? I don't want to have to replace it often for a tool I use sparingly...

lol, sorry. Don't worry, buy more. That's my philopsophy, seems to be working poorly, though. =(

That is/was my intention as well. But right now I have my dSLR, a Rebel XSI that I haven't used in a year, a video camera, a pocket video camera, the TS3, and my cell phone. Maybe it's best that I didn't buy another camera. Although, my wife could use an upgrade regardless of her protests! hehe.

I try not to post too many off-topic deals. It can get out of hand really quick if others follow suit.

Sears Deal of the day. Good through 12/20/11:

Craftsman 100pc Drill Drive Set

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00931639000P

spin_prod_611571701

Those bits are garbage.

I bought a set on BF for $15. Took it home, looked it over, packed it up and took it back to the store. Not bad for $15, but not great. The set feels like it's worth $15.

That the bits are labeled " 1" screwdriver bits" and " 2" screwdriver bits" makes me think about the type of users this set is made for.

Mine came with a "smart" version of the nicad charger that has a energy star low power battery maintain mode, so I don't think infrequent use will be a factor in overall battery life. Warranty is a year, not sure if that includes the battery.

Nicad life is at best a guess, but they have in general improved a lot from the old days when life was a year or two at best. Still a pack is only as good as the worst cell. Sale price right now on a Nicad pack at Sears is $29 for the C3, which is pretty darn cheap.

I don't expect to buy any more new C3 Nicads. I may pick up another tool, either new or used, or a used Nicad to have rebuilt, but most likely when I find a deal I will buy a Lithium pack and unfortunately a charger since it comes with a Nicad only charger.

The last time I replaced my charger I bought an open box nicad/lithium combo. It was good timing, but o far I have only bought Nicads. It is looking like my Nicad that came in the set 6-7yrs ago might finally be dieing.

I like my C3 impact, but FYI, it would not break lug nuts loose on my Camaro, or my dad's Jeep grand cherokee...

Really puzzling how much different results different people are having with cordless impacts of all brands. Seems to me most of the people here draw the line in the sand with taking off lug nuts, and if it fails to do it, it would be going back to Sears.

I've got a 25" HF breaker bar, and if I need to use it, not a lot of point in the cordless.

I'm curious have you tried putting the lugs back on with the C3 and then using a torque wrench to spec? Did the torque wrench turn the lug any before clicking?

I have the C3 cordless impact wrench and use it a TON!! The battery makes a huge difference. I have two nicads that are a couple years old and the impact eats them up. I think they are getting to the end of their lives. Waiting for a killer deal on new batteries.

Either way as long as the battery is fresh it will zip off lug bolts normally. It will torque things on to at least 200ft lbs with what I have tested it. I can judge its torque pretty well, I wish they offered it in a 3/8 version because many times I use an adapter on it.

If you're still waiting, call the 24hr line and check on your order status..

the deal that won't die..

Haha, since we don't have it on this page :)

My 2nd one shipped yesterday. and card charged $15.72. I ordered them both on the same order, same day on 11/20, got the first 11/22 or 11/23. Not sure why the 2nd took a month. But oh well. Dad will have a good christmas after all!

I have the C3 impact with lithium batteries. It has good power and will remove lug nuts that I torque to 100ft/lbs. However, if I try to remove one on someone elses vehicle that is really stuck or torqued much more than that, it has a hard time removing them.

Well...my grainger SK ratchet arrived today.

What a strange company/ordering experience.

ROFL - mine was supposed to ship on the 14th according to the random email I got from them, I called last Friday to see what's up because i didn't hear from them and I was told for "some" reason the order was never completed, but he found one of each in different states and assured me that I will still be only charged the $16 deal price even though they now show $80 something. My card was just charged for them today, now let's see if they show up lol.

Ive never ordered from Grainger but ive worked at places that had daily deliveries from them. Ive never heard anything really bad about Grainger either. Is this common practice for them? Or is it just because of that ratchet deal? I'd like to think Grainger was better than this for future reference.

My brother lived close to the brick and mortar store and picked up the ratchets for me. He said they were really helpful and nice. However, he said, by standing in the lobby area/counter, he had no idea what the heck the place did or what it was. On the walls, they had, "Grainger: We get it done."

My brother's response, "You get what done? What is this place?"

Funny guy...

It is a good deal, and your contributions are appreciated. It's a fine set for casual DIYers and definitely for homeowners. I didn't meant to shoot you down, just wanted to share my 2 cents.

I bought it for the brad bits and as general purpose spares, but the quality just felt a little lacking.

nah...I didn't take it personally at all. I was trying to be funny. Text only can sometimes not communicate appropriate affect..

I really appreciate your clarification on the item. Now, I won't bother going down to get one myself..

though I do have to go pick up my C3 impact...jeez, this thread is killing me...

I was just in lowes getting those stubby wrenches and I saw that they had the double pack of Porter Cable hand grinders on clearance for $49.99 don't show up on thier web site as that it was a in store clearance. Awesome price. In the display I seen ,(which there might of been more then one), it only had 2 boxes left in it. Sure wish I had 50 extra dollars.

http://www.lowes.com/pd_362412-7999...51_40_?Ns=p_product_price|1&facetInfo=PORTER-

Sorry for any confusion.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned this yet - $10 off $100 at Amazon if you use a MasterCard.

Details and code via TG

I ordered $103 in Bosch products for $73. Yeehaw.

So how do I get the additional $20 off?

I think he's adding in the 20 off 100 Bosch purchase going on.

Link

Yep. I stacked the $10 off $100 with the Bosch $20 off $100 auto-discount. It *should* work the same with the current Dewalt, Skil, and Makita discounts. All the random brand-specific auto-coupons are on this page, or via the top right of the sidebar column on my blog.
