I like Knipex, but some of the ones I found at my local Sears left a lot to be desired. The quality of the tool itself was great, but I think someone forgot to grind off some of the edges from where it was forged. Ended up almost cutting my finger.

A sweet cable cutter christmas gift from my employees, the much debated Grainger 1/2" Flex Ratchets and 2 really sweet new SO ratchets I bought here in the classifieds.

I'm doing good.

Really? hmmmm no complants so far from these tools. Havent gotten to use them yet. Only thing I might say and its really not that big of a deal is that the side cutters arent buttery smooth like the rest of my pliers. I used a bit of triflow on them and it helped but they arent slickity slick like all my other pliers. Still nice side cuts tho

Thanks

CT7850
SHLF80
FHLF80
9/16 and 5/8 FD+ wrenches
set of 3/8 metric swivels 10,12-15,17
1/4" 10mm swivel
1/4" extension
3/8 chisel
SGD6BG
Not Pictured: CT4410A (picking that up tonight, dealer has it in his storage locker)

Got rid of some doubles I had, filled in some missing spots and picked up the new LiIon 1/2 impact along with the 3/8 NiCad impact.

That CT7850 seems head and shoulders above the CT6850. bright light, brake, just seems better built. The fact it comes with a tote bag instead of a blow moulded case is just icing on the cake.

I've heard rumors that a LiIon 3/8 impact might be in the works. I think I'm going to not use the 4410 till after the Kickoff meetings to see if it's true.

not a real wrench, it's made of aluminium and has holes in the backside for mounting on the wall, but still pretty impressive.

It's 47 inches long and it's not made out of aluminum, it's hand made out of resin. Your right about the hooks, and it has snap on flank drive plus wrench specs on the back as well.

I knew they where hard to get as they been out about year now, I think? Anyway I saw a pic of one and thought I just have to have one, for the right price. I expected them to be around 150.00 on the truck and more on eBay. Just happened to be cruising eBay one night and all the auction said was "huge wrench made to hang on wall." buy it now for 50.00. Ya I was sold right there. Now I would like to know just how rare they are. Might be worth something some day IDK though. Did get the original box with it as well. Wife don't know it yet but I'll be hanging it up in the kitchen. Lol.

I want to get me one of those CT7850 guns, but I really want a orange one. I'd be pissed if I got one and then they came out. I'm also very impatient when I fancy something on the truck.

Just received the Zyklop 3/8" ratchet set. Probably would not have purchased it had it not been half off on Amazon. I'm not all that impressed with the sockets, but the overall build quality is quite good. I am most impressed with the box itself; not a lot of tool sets come in such nicely designed and constructed cases. And it's surprisingly heavy for its size. I'll probably keep this little set in my truck.

What do you not like about the sockets? Just from pics I thought the finish/knurling/etc looked fantastic.

I shouldn't say that I _don't_ like them. They are quite heavy for their size, it seems, which gives a sense of quality. They are satin finish - which is not my preference, but it's no problem - but the exterior finish on the sockets is...not uber-uniform. I suppose I am being too picky, as they are very nice. I've just seen nicer satin finishes on, say, Wright wrenches. I should point out, though, that the broaching is extremely good, very clean edges, with nice detents on all 4 inside edges on the connector end.

I've been meaning to start a socket comparison thread to document the differences/similarities between all the various brands like Snappy, Craftsman, Proto, Williams, Armstrong, Wera, Nepros, and the others. But I suppose the redundancy police would frown on that...

I think Sockets are stamped not broached right? I used to run broaches.

Those snappy vice grips will come in handy. My buddy has a set and I used them a bit. They are on my list of tools to get

You're right, of course. Wrench ends are broached. Sockets are 'formed', where forming tools of increasing size are inserted into the hot steel expanding it step by step (up to 5 or more depending on socket size), until the final dimension and shape is achieved. But I am no expert. Others may wish to correct me...

Just a few of the recent additions.

KD (GearWrench) 41720 sensor socket set.

7739.jpg

KD (GearWrench) 41740 magnetic spark plug socket set (5/8").

7742.jpg

VIM VM600 metric hex impact bits (duplicate, but I didn't have pictures of my older set).

7759.jpg

VIM SHM400 metric hex bits (again a duplicate).

7751.jpg

VIM Magrail TL to hold VM600 and SHM400.

7761.jpg

Sunex 9930 stubby SAE set. Cheap, which is good for me since I don't need SAE very often.

7763.jpg

In the last 12 months, I have not received a VIM package without egregious spelling errors or incorrect information printed on it. I guess it's good to be able to laugh at someone else's expense once in a while. Thus far, the SHM400 packaging is tops... what is SAE about a 2mm to 10mm hex bit set?

7749.jpg

The VM600 set has 'stubbie' and 'plateing' (click for zoom).
