Re: Japaneese Screw drivers

I think the manufacturer on those is Anex, as are the ones from Garrett Wade I thought about ordering some of those myself and I probably will eventually. I positively covet the Nepros woodies though, they just don't offer what I want as a set.

Monte,

You get all the cool tools! Can't we have some? Are these readily available in Germany or do you order them in? Another question, does Germany import much Chinese made stuff or do they shy away from them?

I am not a lover of new Irwin tools (even the small bits get destroyed by my 12 volt screwdriver), but if you are ever out looking at garage sales and you run into old Irwin made screwdrivers pick them up asap! They are fantastic and they even look as good as those screwdrivers from Japan.

Thanks purevl and Monte! I appreciate the info.

Anyone own these? Feedback?

Monte,

You get all the cool tools! Can't we have some?

In the first 2 posts are links where you can buy them in the US :)

Are these readily available in Germany or do you order them in?

The Anex drivers are imported by a german company who is specialised in high quality woodworking tools and knives from Japan, Sweden, Switzerland, USA etc. so several stores offer these tools here in my city especially japanese saws. So you can find screwdrivers too or order them through the store or online --> http://www.mehr-als-werkzeug.de/pag...onid=B95BCD2D44230F88448D7605D044F7C4?lang=en

Another question, does Germany import much Chinese made stuff or do they shy away from them?

There are a lot of imports too, not everybody wants to pay for "Made in Germany" so you can find several german brands like "Proxxon" or "KS-Tools"
who sell taiwanese tools over here, the (often) lower quality tools from China + India are primarely sold in "Home Depot" type stores who usually offer different "price classes" -> low price: imported, higher price: from germany or name brand imports like Stanley or Irwin, Bahco etc. similar to Sears where you can buy "Evolv" tools or "Craftsman" for example.

Monte, have you done a "lets see your tool box" lately? You have all the coolest tools that I have never seen before. Even if you have posted before, you HAVE to do updated pics....very cools stuff.

i will post some updated pics during 2012, so stay tuned :)

here some pics of the screwdriver collection :)
