I won the F830 on ebay and the seller claimed dual 80 technology. The F80 comes up on Snappy's site when I search for F830, but seems like that is erroneous. What is the deal with this model? 36 or 80 gear teeth? Is it like the F936? Was I deceived?

Yes, we know all about this case Mike.
The F830 has 30 teeth; hence the part number.
It's still a very nice ratchet. I'd advise you in the future to pay close attention the seller's item photo; not their description.![]()
Why would that ******* seller write about dual 80 technology in the description?
Because the sellers are usually dumbasses; especially the ones that work at pawn shops.![]()
