Went to the Kumeu Hotrod and Custom Car Show (& swap meet). Wandering around the swap meet I found these.

So for the first time ever, thanks to you tool collecting bas$%@ds, I bought tools not to use but because they were old and made in USA.

Armstrong Rachet S-50. It appears to have no chrome so I suspect it is an older cadmium plated one.

Channellock Nippers No. 398 (maybe 358). I can't find any info on these.

NZ$5 each, about US$3.50 each.

I hope this isn't habit forming. :lol_hitti

Oh, it gets worse, trust me! :D

Nice finds. Not sure if its the pics or what, but the patina makes it look like these may have gone through a fire? :dunno:

old or not that, ratchet would see action in my garage, that thing is pretty cool.
I'm not a tool polisher, unless you call scrubbing off the surface rust after you bring it home from the yard sale, flea mkt, swap meet etc. after having been purchased for pennies on the dollar compared to new.
If it's not plated, I'd recommend some bees wax after letting it set in the direct sun it sinks into the pores better(kinda like seasoning an iron skillet) boiled linseed oil works too.
