Help me find a quality bench grinder, not too big... maybe 6" wheel size. Pref made in USA or maybe Europe. $200ish.... or am I going to have to pony up more?

good luck finding a USA made for $200. May I suggest a Milwaukee, dewalt ? I have a Dewalt after my cman took craps on me.

The Dewalt is 8" and has worked fine for the last 5 yrs of normal use.

I've got a few of both (cheap and not), the not is a small 6" baldor (also have two 8" baldor buffers), they are great. Hard to find even the smaller 662 (6") for $200, though, closer to $250-$300. But, if you can live with a used one, scour CL. I go my 6" on CL for $125 and it was new, in the box...

Ive found and bought 2 USA made bench grinders. Both in excellent condition. A 7" Milwaukee 1/2 HP for $130 on Ebay and an 8" 3/4 HP Milwaukee with a pedestal for $85 on Craigslist. :bounce: Recently I came a cross a like-new Dayton 6" USA made for $25. :wtf: Was gone quick. So you have to be fast.

+1

I actually found my grinder on portland craigslist for next to nothing. Seriously I think I paid like $10-$30 for it. It's a wilton in like new condition, the guy bought it new and seemed like he never used it save for a handful of times. It's a standard 6" 110V but I really doubt it was made in the USA. Only downside of it is that the built in light is very small. I prefer nice large lights, but beggars can't be choosers!

Here it is.... thanks to all who suggested it. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase!

I swapped out the wire wheel for a very fine grinder wheel... but it's otherwise a 762 model.

Did you say where you bought it? If not, can you?

Mile-X Equipment had by far the best price... some were as high as $550 with shipping, and most were in the low 400's... I got this for $391 shipped.

Just replaced all of the fasteners on it with high grade SS ones and it's now good to go!
