Yea they are west coast so I am sure you have to wait until 8-9 PST. I am anxious to order as well.

Steve

The phone lines are open. There is one leaving their building today with my name on it. 5-8 business days for delivery. He said they were having a slow month due to tax season, etc., and wanted to sell some units.

Great news Steve and thanks, but thats a bit too soon for me.

That is a slightly better price than the one I got with a delivery in April...I'm not about to move a heavy lift off a pick-up with snow and ice on the ground.

As long as you got one is all that matters! It was in the 60's here this past weekend. I hope it is nice when I get it. I want to get this badboy installed!

I bought one today, and thought I'd get a jump on the installation. I ordered the BOSCH HCBG24 7/8" drill bit off of EBay. It was only $5, so I got two of them, for $15.50 including postage. I haven't decided on whether I'll rent or buy the rotarty hammer drill. By the time you factor in gas and the time to return it, I might be able to buy it. I'll have to check Homer, Sears, etc. to see what they have on the factory reconditioned rack.

EDIT: I used my Bosche drill bits today. I drilled 13 holes total into 3500 psi concrete. The first bit died about about 10 holes. The other problem is that they are not long enough if you have more than 5-1/2" of concrete. Most garages don't so it's not a problem, but I have newly poured concrete that is 12 inches thick, and this drill bit won't go all the way to 5-1/2". It's only 1-4" to 1/"2 shy, but if you keep pressing for that 5-1/2" like the directions say, the chuck starts digging into the concrete. Probably mot a huge deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Props to GES for doing this group buy. I took part in the June 2011 GB for $1750 shipped. That was terminal delivery too. There was one a couple years ago for I ...believe... $1500 or $1600? I did the math with a costco membership, tax and the extra money, I went ahead and pulled the trigger...
They are a ***** to unload by your self but it can be done. The problem is the base of the column is hanging in the air on the shipping frame. Its hard to undo the bolts and hold it up at the same time.. Moral of the story is have someone help you... You will save from scratching paint and screwing up the decals. GES or Danaher rather sent me a couple new decals and there is a can pf touch up paint with the lift.... Someday, I will actually get around to installing my lift. Two little girls 13 months apart keep me busier than I ever imagined..

Ordered mine yesterday as well. I'm excited, have wanted a lift for years, and have really enjoyed my motorcycle lift. I'm sure things will be a lot easier once it is up.

I'm always entertained to see the great selection of cars that the members of this board own. Me personally, the fleet consists of:

1979 Lotus Esprit
1973 Mustang convertible
2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP (303 hp, 323 ft-lbs 5.3 liter V-8)
2007 Nissan Ultima (wife's car)
2001 Ski Nautique.

A tip for safe unloading of your MaxJax:

A heads up to everyone regarding the unloading of your MJ (this almost happened to me) The slides that the lift arms attatch to move freely on the posts. When you're unloading the posts the slide can drop down fast and smash your hand. be aware of the position the slides are in, bring them to the bottom before you tilt the posts upright.

These guys are LIGHTNING fast. I ordered mine Monday morning, and it's supposed to be in Orlando by Friday morning. Everyone at Garage Equipment has been great about answering my questions as well.

Haven't seen any mention of this, so I thought I'd share:

I asked MaxJax about the distance from the stress relief cuts in my concrete. They are 1 inch deep in what I believe is 5 to 5-1/2 inch deep 3500 psi concrete with fibers in it. Gabriel Endreola, Quality Control Manager at Dannmar said that the back bolts needed to be at least 3 inches from the relief cut, and the front bolts can be in the cut, as long as the anchors set properly. If they don't they can be epoxied in.

For those of you wondering if it'd fit in the back of your SUV.. Plenty of room in my 01 Jeep GC. Uprights are 54" -no prob. Heavy though.. Put a blanket or cardboard down over the bumper & interior!

Since there are probably a bunch of guys installing lifts this weekend from last Mondays group buy (I'm one of them), I thought this was worth mentioning. I'll cross post it in the installation thread when I finish. Before you screw in the hydraulic fittings, remove the ONE wrap of teflon tape, and install THREE wraps, which is the standard insallation technique. Also, when you wrap them, warp it so that when it gets screwed in, it is tightening your tape, not loosening it. To do this, hold the fitting in your left hand with the threads pointing right. Loop the tape over the top going away from you, and under the bottom coming towards you. That way, it doesn't unravel when you tighten it. Mine had one wrap, in the wrong direction.

Can we get another group buy organized? I'm looking to buy this and would love a discount. Seems like $2400 is the going rate these days.

They do group buys to stimulate sales during periods when sales are low, like January, since no one has money after Christmas. You might call them and see if you can set up something, or they might have something set up with another group (search the internet).

Hello All...

It looks like myself as well as others missed the group buy back on Jan 30th and I am definitely interested in the Max Jax for my new 26x32 garage I just built.

In light of that, I didn't find any other threads on this since this one closed for a new group buy opportunity. So I did like Skamp did and I just emailed Kristi at GES to see what could be available for a price either individually or for a new group buy chance.

I will post back some information on what kind of response I get.
Jim.

There are other threads out there about the Max Jax where more of us who missed are open to a group buy. Add me to the list.

Hello...

I just wanted to post an update for those that were following this on a potential group buy of the MaxJax. I have heard back from the company and as of right now, there are no plans for another group buy. :( The best chance for a good price is to contact the company directly (call or email) and see what discount they have available at the time.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...
Jim...

I am brand new to the forum (and very impressed I should add!!). I would also order a Maxjax if another group buy is offered. Hopefully if there is enough interest there will be another soon.

Thanks very much!

I see that someone has posted that there won't be another group purchase but I am interested if one does occur.
