Any special places where you purchased the items? I'm looking to purchase more Channellock tools at decent prices. I know some of them probably came from Home Depot. If you have any secrets please share! :p

The snipe nose are nice. They are a very solid tool. The outside shape is hand ground however and the slope on the sides don't match perfectly. I sort of wish I had a local source for these so I could flip though a few pairs for one that is closer to perfect, but aside from that I like them a lot.

I own a decent amount of Knipex, Klein, Irwin, Craftsman, etc. pliers and one thing with Channellock is there may be a non essential edge that hand ground and may not always have perfect shape or contour, but where it counts for the function of the tool the finish is excellent. The pliers jaws, the cutting edges, etc are always right on as far as I have experienced.

I picked up a few sets of Channellock screwdrivers at Sam's as a Christmas present for a couple of friends.

When I got them home and looked at them, I decided to keep a set for myself.

Very, very nice. Went back to Sam's and was told their a seasonal item.

If you ever see them, have a good look. I've been very impressed.

Wish I'd bought a few more sets.

And the color of the handles will match what you've got in pliers.

Makes the 2 pairs I just bought tonight look like childsplay. And makes me really jealous and envious. Props to you mate, props!

Bought an 317, needle nose and a 526 slip-joint (second pair. Used the first one WAY more than expected). Dang needlenose Channellocks are expensive though. Looked at Farm and Fleet and Walmart and they wanted about $19 a piece for um' and farm and fleet wanted $9.89 for the slip-joint. I've gotten all mine at good prices (similar to Epstein's prices actually) and Norby's Farm fleet. 526 Slip-Joints for $5.95 and 317 Needle-nose for $16.59. The 528 8in slip-joints are $7.95. Cheapest I've seen new Channellock's anywhere, and small town shop none-the-less.

Got a few pairs at school like those on the far left. Don't car too much for them. I can easily squeeze the handles together and make them touch.

I was diagnosed sometime last year with Channellockosis, and I went from one #442 that'd i'd been using for 5 years to 9 pliers + 1 adj. wrench in a matter of a few months  I'm now sporting those same 442's (still almost new minus some surface rust. Easily cleans up with a wire brush), 440s, some 526 slip-joints, 358 Nippers, 337 Diags, 368 Linemans, one of the Irega rebrand adjustables, 909 crimping pliers, 317 Long Nose, annnnd a 85 fencing tool.

Yes, I have a problem. Not as bad as the OP though! :)

On the wish-list:
548 Slip-Joint pliers
449 Diags
911 Cable Cutters

I recently bought the 909 crimped from the hd deal. Noticed the letters "t b" above the grips. Is that for Thomas and Betts? They make those style of crimpers as well so just wondering if they are coming from the same factory. What is stamped on everyone else's?

This should answer all your questions and more:

Okay, well it's a blocked link. But I'll find a way to show you it >_>

EDIT 2: Umm.. google "Pliar(sic) type crimpers explored". It should be the first link.

I own 10 different types of Channellock stuff. My favorites are the 909 crimpers, the 911 cable cutters and the 369crft linesman plers. I have the good old slip joints and needle nose as well. Best value in pliers by far. The only others I own are Knipex and Snap On. I do have a few Cornwell but found out they are Channellock with orange handles.

I love the linemans 369, I love the 460, and i am happy witht the 12" Grip locks, I have a pair of 317 and 318 needle nose, also have the dykes but they stay at home I haven't taken them to work (still have Klien and SO in the work box in **** dep.), I also still us klien crimpers, I too love the 'blue', and this week at Canadian Tire they are 30% off, I will get the filter wrench next. I have three boys, and I have started tool boxes for them, they all have the 420's and the 317's, and only one 369. Every time CT has the sale I buy another CL, for one of the boxes, it's fun. Channelock binge happens every couple of months across Canada, at your local CT.

Chad, I've never had to warranty anything Channellock. Mine all seem to last forever!

Same here, I've got several Channellocks that are 25 + years old, heavily used and abused and never broke a pair, I have broken some of their wire cutters but it was misuse on my part so I tossed them.
