Here is a quick Sunday afternoon project that I did for a trainer at my gym. A simple pull-up bar...

I offer the next picture only as a comparison shot for those, like myself, that **** at TIG welding. And also, as to not leave any of my fellow GJ members out, to blow a little sunshine up the asses of those that have mastered the craft. ;)

I've yet to master the spark, but practice makes perfect as you have shown. Nice work. Oh, and I had a "why didn't I think of that" moment when I saw the parts dish on the back of your vise.

I like your design very much. I have been thinking about making one for several years but I was wondering about attaching it the I beam. I think yours will work for me. What size tubing did you use for the bar and wall size ?

BTW, I spy AR parts, upper receiver, charging t-handle, bolt carrier and bolt.

Eric - Tubing was what I had around and was all 1/8 wall thickness. Squares were 2" and bar was 1.25".
AR parts sighting and proper nomenclature are accurate Marine. Semper Fi

Thank you sir. I'm off the month of March, maybe I fab one up for the garage. I actually miss doing some pull-ups every now and then. I'd hate to think how many I did in that four years.

This project is awesome! It's almost impossible to find US made pull up bars. If you don't mind, can you tell us what you charged for the work?

Can you tell me about the belt attachment on the grinder i see in the background please. I am assuming it is a aftermarket attachment. If so, who makes it ? any info much appreciated.
