They have this screwdriver set in there ad for this week. Says while quantities last I show up todat figuring there gone ask about them girl says we have 12 sets. She hunts all over cant find them she happens to go upstairs where they keep stock comes back down with them. Then tells me there was a case up there that never got put on the shelves. Not bad for 14.99 plus tax sort of a no lose deal. I wonder how often this happens I always have them check stock when I cant find a sale item this time it paid off.

Happens at Sears all the time. (stock not making it to the shelves)

Are those screwdrivers MasterForce? I was looking at some the other day, felt decent and they were made in the USA.

I saw the ad and they are a large orange handle with black trim. With my magnifying glass it looks like it says Tool Shop on the handle. Can we get a review from the OP?

Unfortunally made by a place called tool rich and made in Chicom. Still feel to be pretty good for the price hard to pass up.

I have some ToolShop screwdrivers. They are junk. The flat tip on one snapped off on a hose clamp, and the phillips tip cracked off as well. The rest of the surviving ToolShop screwdrivers are in my junkyard bag. The handles look like snapon knockoffs.

I stopped to look at them when I was there today. It looks like a few screwdrivers and ton of screwdriverbits. I didn't even think it was worth it to pick up the package to look at it.

Just a heads up, and I never buy Tool Shop but I have noticed the new ratchets/etc. are Taiwan and much nicer than the old, so it's possible if not probable the new screwdrivers have gone up a bit in quality as well.

The Masterforce-branded Pratt-Read seem like the best value though.

I also usually walk right by the Tool Shop tools, but today I noticed the "offset" 72 tooth ratchets, made in Taiwan, all on clearance at Menard's. Grabbed one of each and they seem nice. I'll start another thread when I have a chance to take some pictures.

While I have yet to give them any heavy use, the Masterforce screwdrivers do seem excellent, and go on sale from time to time.

Any chance the ratchets were the Round-head flex heads that were $5 (normal price) for a LONG time? I did a quick review of one awhile back on here. Tool Shop, 3/8" flex-head.

puttsy,
No, these were pear-head, quick-release, non-flex, ratchets with an offset handle and a soft grip. They caught my eye because I thought they resembled the popular HF composite ratchets, though that's a mistake on my part. Regular prices look to have been north of $20, on clearance for single digit prices. I'll get all the details, including photos, up in a day or so. I did notice some similar to the ones you reviewed, but I didn't pay much attention to them.

A couple of those ratchets were fairly hefty pieces of steel. It does not hurt to have a couple extra ratchets sitting around and those looked to be good deals for your occasional need tool.

I have Tool Shop plier kit. I cannot complain. I have them for work where they can easily be lost, forgotten, stolen, etc.
