I am having an issue with my Snap-on WB400. I have not really used it since my Dad picked it up at a sale a few years back. We went to plug it in and balance a few tires here the other day and the read out just said "ee.e" Does anyone know what that means?

I don't have a manual and can't find one on line.

I am not sure if it is broken, needs a new battery, ect.

If it is broken does Snap-on warranty an electronic product that is from the 1980's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You got a piece of equipment that has electronics on it that's about 30 years old that you bought second hand and you want to know if there is a warranty? Just call up Snap-on and I bet that they will just ship you out another wheel balancer. Hell, they might even throw in a free tool box just to compensate you for the trouble you have had with your used tire balancer.

I don't know if your problem is fixed or not but I have one of these balancers. If it is not used for a long peroid of time and is unplugged you must reprogram the unit. That is the ee.e message you are getting. The manual shows you how to reprogram the unit.

I've got a WB540, so I'm not so sure how relevant my knowledge is to you (although from what I see, while it looks different, they're pretty much the same, under the hood), but if the spindle turns under the wheel as I screw the cone on, if I'm holding the wheel up too much, it will beep a few times (because it thinks you're spinning it), and eventually display the ee.e (because the spinning was too erratic, since the wheel wasn't actually turning).
This goes away as soon as I spin the wheel after properly clamping it.

Snapon should be able to email you a scan of the manual if you call them. That's how I got mine.
