Sweet plane! Nice cleanup too. I'd buy it for 2 bucks.

Very nice. What'd you do to clean it up?

Hack job: disassemble everything, wire wheel/ wire brush/ sanding sponge, rubbed it with a little oil, back together. The japanning finish came back pretty decently. It's not brand new cosmetically but that's the way I like 'em- with a little 'work wear'.

Still made in USA?
Difficult to tell. The only indication of place of manufacture is stamped on the hose, which says Milton Industries ... made in the USA. There is nothing printed on the box or on the instructions indicating where the product is made. At least I know the hose is made in the USA; can't tell if the rest of it is.

I picked up a 1/4" drive Craftsman set in a BLUE steel box at a garage sale yesterday.

I knew the ratchet didn't match but the price was right.

The ratchet is a 4749 Proto (my first Proto anything) and the rest is all marked Craftsman BE.

Cheers

Jim

Love the box, that is the style and time period I collect of Craftsman, I just got a big box of that this weekend that I traded for loaded with tools but the box needs some metal work and possibly repainting as the metal work I will be doing is severe. Those are not the extentions that went with it age wise but also very nice. Looks like mix matched sockets I can not see the logos so I am not sure on years. That proto socket wrench looks in great shape and is a very nice wrench and I am sure for whatever a garage sale price was you made out just on that socket wrench (that age Proto is very well made)

Good stuff!

Titan shears. $2 on clearance at O'reilly.

The package was all tore up, but the shears are fine.

O'relly is worth checking out occasionally. They always seem to have tools on the clearance rack each store has.

Traded a old *** TV for this set today. Missing the 7/32 socket. It looks like it was never used, just sat in the toolbox.

I think this is going to be my new favorite ratchet
3/8" drive 11" long. Favorite features are the nice deeply knurled handle, extremely low ratcheting resistance, and zero slop between the drive gear and head when you have a deep socket on it like my dual 80 does. I'll be saving my dual 80 for only times where I need the locking flex feature or the high tooth count.

New vice for the drill press.

Not exactley what I wanted, the price was right for $ 11.50 off ebay.

So heavy I should not have to bolt down.

At Menards: Tool Shop 1/4" Drive Ratchet (stubby) with cushy handle $2.99 ------------- Tool Shop 3/8" Drive Ratchet (stubby) with cushy handle $3.99 ------------- Tool Shop 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" Drive Adapters $1.99 (I think) ------------- Irwin model 380 hand saw made in Germany $10.00 and a $10.00 mail in Rebate. So it's free so to speak.

Some "new" stuff. not really tools but tool related. bought this to put my garage stereo in to help keep the dust and **** out of it. It is a Snap On computer shelf that the snappy guy would have/use on the truck for the computer/printer setup

A Cornwell 3/8dr Universal joint extension!

Otherwise just some gizmos, and jerky.

IMAG0450.jpg

The Cornwell U-joint extension with a 13mm socket compared to a Snap-on extension, and a 13mm Snap-on U-joint socket. About as close as you can get to matching...

Picked up the extension set for $145 fresh off the truck today. And couldn't pass up the Metric wrenches for $100. Some guy was upgrading to the flank drive set and before he could set them down of the shelf, I nabbed them :rocker:

Ivy Classic Ratcheting screwdriver.
Model# 17073

Picked this up a few weeks back from a small local Ace hdwre store to put it thru its paces and try it out against the high dollar units .

So far this thing has been a champ for the price. Amazon lists it for $17.99 and locally you can get them for cheaper if on sale or with coupon.

Screw-on cap with 10 bits and cage for bit storage included. Too bad teh cage and bits are too big to fit in the Snap-On screwdriver to solve that problem. Boo. :)

Aside from the hokie gold alum spinner holder on the tip (that I will likely remove), I am going to guess that the Ivy driver is the sister driver to what Mac uses, but with a different selector ring and removeable shank.

The Ivy is identical in weight, smoothness of movement and handle form.

All in all, if you want to try out a good ratcheting screwdriver without dropping big $$$, this is a great solution, especally for junkyard bags and boxes.
