Well been reading around this cool site for a while and figured its time to show my finds from this weekend. Everything was at a local online auction.

First is a DuroChrome socket set from 1929 or 30. I did restore the box. Awesome set. missing 2 sockets and 2 adapters, not bad for 80 year old set
$5.50

Then got these screwdrivers and other randoms, for $12.00. There was a lot more in it, but this is the better stuff. Large Screwdrivers are Proto Los Angeles, Proto Tin snips, and P&C wrenches.

Then got this Kennedy Tool box, Government issue, from 1964 for $10.00.
Probably gonna restore it and use it, cool little box.

Lastly a KR56 (1956) Snap On Top and a Cornwell bottom, Snap on is in awesome shape, Cornwell is probably gonna get a restore. You can see where ive been trying to get the paint off the Cornwell Name plate, hopefully without taking the actual logo paint off. Not sure what year it is? $95.00

Well maybe this week you'll remember theres an auction. And we better find out a way to figure out who's bidding on what otherwise we're gonna bid each other up and pay 3 times what we should.

WOW :shocking: That Kennedy is really nice! I wouldn't restore any of those boxes. But I'd clean em up real good. You did amazingly well on all those tools.

Well the Cornwell was already painted over, and unfortunately right over the front logo plate, its in rough shape, I figure Im not ruining the original paint since it was painted. Its all in great shape other than the paint, even have the keys

I'd possibly sell the kennedy, I think its an awesome box, just has some dents on the lid. I was gonna restore it for my own use. But if someone can appreciate it in its own state. Its a fairly heavy, well made box though. shipping would ****.

The whole set was actually covered in old oil, which is nice cuz not much for rust. I cleaned them up, but theyre still just a little dirty. Its 83 years old i dont wanna do anything to take away from the natural aged look of the sockets. The speeder and ratchet could use a little rust remover though. Sockets are in better shape

That is a great deal! I recently picked up (and subsequently sold) a nearly identical set, but not for that kind of money...
