I found this cool old Ausco floor jack at an estate sale this afternoon. I already have a couple of nice floor jacks, but it was just too cool to pass up.

I think I'm going to end up painting the body dark blue or red and paint the wheel "fenders" white.

It works OK... seems like it just needs a little fluid. No obvious signs of leaks that I see with a cursory glance.

Nice find indeed!
Wish there was something like that out this way. All there is are old tractor parts. Except for my cousin's place, they have cars, trucks and motorcycles going way way back w/lic. plates just sitting around getting rusty. I might get 2 of the Willy's he has.

That is a Cool Looking Little Beast.
Is that back wheel worn flat?

Nope... the rear wheels have fenders too.

BTW - Does anyone have an idea of what this little wheel might be for? It's on the yoke where the handle goes through.

I believe that is the handle release knob. It should be attached to a spring loaded rod. Pull the knob to detach the handle.

Old Ausco jacks are pretty cool:

I'm not sure what the original scheme of this jack is supposed to be, but If I owned it, I think I'd use this old ad as a guide for my color choices.

I have exactly the same jack except 2-ton. It is so old that I could not tell the original color so I painted it gray and blue, and polished the brass plate. It works perfectly.

That is super rad.

I suggest a dark red body with ivory fenders and handle base.
