Interesting at least to me, being a tool noob. :D

Left to right:

Williams wrench
Mac wooden handle screwdriver
Barcolo wrench (other side says "barcoloy?"
Proto wrench
WEIRD Craftsman wrench, socket on one end?
"Forged in USA" 12mm Craftsman. (Can never have enough 12mm anything)

Williams 9/16 one end, 11/16 the other.

This thing weirds me out. 9/16th, has a nut stuck in the socket end i need to try to take out.

Proto 11/16, actually in pretty decent shape. The finish is coming off on one corner of the box end.

MAC phillips head. There were a bunch more, but they were completely beat and half of them the handles were so trashed you couldn't read the brand.

Barcolo(y?) 3/4 wrench.

Anyone have neat trivia on any of these? Or can maybe explain the strange Craftsman? Wondering if i'm going to start gaining the sickness of tool collecting, since i don't really have a use for any but the USA Craftsman 12mm, i don't work on cars that need SAE stuff. Any of it collectible? :)

I like those saltus wrenches I think I must be the only person on this planet that likes them!:thumbup:

I think i'd like them if i had a full metric set. I'm finding that collecting cool things is harder when you only use/care about metric. :eyecrazy:

Let me clean it up a little, the other side is fairly rusty and nasty-looking, and i want to see if i can get the nut out of it. Then, if you have a use for it and remind me, it might find its way in a flat rate box to your door. :)

I have a set of snap on wrenches like that craftsman saltus wrench. I use them all the time. Snap on calls them flex head.

The one you had troble with the spelling on is a Barcalo made in Buffalo NY USA. I can also clearly read that in the picture though lol. Good stuff keep hunting!

There's a "y" at the end of "Barcalo" on the reverse side, though... :headscrat

Any idea on the vintage of any of these things? Namely the Williams and Barcalo, i'm guessing the Craftsman and Proto stuff isn't that old.

No idea, really... most of this stuff is a "first" for me. I've been making do for years with Craftsman and Harbor Freight stuff. (Most of it HAS served me well though!)

For plated tools give it a good soak in white vinegar (Overnight at lest), and a stiff brushing should take the rust (and any dirt) off.

Woody, I like the saltus wrenches, I've just never managed to find a set (or any singles) cheaply... They weren't popular that is certain!

Awesome, thanks for the tip! :) I gave it a once over somewhat lightly with some steel wool, but my brushes and real cleaning things are 30 minutes north at my garage. Will give it a shot this week.
