My wife just returned from a road trip and somewhere along the line she stepped in some cold patch asphalt and get it all in the floor mat of her new van. Because she was about 9 hours from home she had no option but to leave it on her shoe and mat for the next week until driving that 9 hours home. I saw it and thought we were buying new mats but was a bit ticked that it happened so early after buying that van. Well I remembered reading about this cheap wonder cleaner from all the ultrasonic cleaner threads so I figured I had a dollar tree a mile away I'd give it a shot. The mat had clumps of tar with gravel chips all gummed up for a week but tried anyways. I poured half a bottle of the concentrate on all the spots and left it sit for 15 minutes then scrubbed, wetted, scrubbed again for a grand total of 2 minutes. The stuff came right out. It actually took me about 10-15 minutes of hosing it off to get all the suds out and the mat looked brand new again. I couldn't believe that this mat was just caked with tar less then an hour ago, and to top it off, the stuff is only a buck.
