I bought this saw brand new last week and love it. But today when I went to use it its not making a straight cut. I have the guide against the metal I am cutting but still after about 6-8 cuts still a little crooked. I took the blade off and put it back on just to try it
And Ideas how to fix this?

Thanks

Nature of a band saw itself gotta go super slow on the cut feed dont let it plow in to the material fast will help if you notice the big open unsupported area hence the deep cut most shop band saws have a guide with a roller bearing to move close to the material to help with more precise cuts and seriously think about a Swag Off Road table set up for stationary work.

depending on the material you're cutting, you'll need to scribe a line for the entire cut.
we use portabands for cutting pipe, and we rarely cut in one motion. usually 3-4 operations, turning the material

Make sure your blade/guides setup is actually straight with the way you hold it. I think it's more operator error than the tool if it's setup right, I'm guilty of it also.

Check the blade guide blocks. On mine, the casting cracked right at the screw hole, so the roller tilted sideways causing the same issue.

This was within a few weeks of buying. I tried to take it to a warranty shop but the wait was like 8 months, so I just ordered (and had to pay for) the part. It was back ordered, and when it finally came it was slightly different from the original. The backorder and the re-design made me think this is not an unusual problem.

x2 on both. Blade guides. And I can't cut straight w a portaband to save my life, will take a 4.5" grinder w cutoff wheel anyday. I've got a buddy who's surgical with a portaband, while I'm more like a 2 year old trying to color in the lines.

Your blade warmed up and stretched. You may have also tempered the blade and damaged it. You will need to take the slack out of the blade, if you over heated the blade you will have this corrected and then it will happen again fairly soon. Then you would need to replace the blade. The blade is not universal, you need a few different types per the material you are cutting. This extends blade life and leads to better, truer cuts.

That is why some guys are Gurus at this...they read the manual and use the properly toothed blades.

I'm gonna bump this up and ask can the guided on a Milwaukee be adjusted? I was loosening the guides but they don't seem like they dont adjust to keep the blade straight. What the fook?????? I have an older 6236 model. You can loosen the guides to replace them but I didn't see any adjustment to straightening the blade out. Its got a gap between the guides and blade. Now how can this be????
