I know it'll be just about a nothing "gloat" to most of you guys, but since I'm only a weekend warrior who skips most weekends when it comes to needing mechanics tools, my new toy for today is kinda nice to me. I got a new Craftsman Full Polish 3/8" drive ratchet. The cool thing for me is it's 11" long. Finally have something I can put a little weigh behind when I need to. Best part, my wife got it for me. I was looking at it when she came back from the linens or soap department or whatever it is that she was looking at and then I went to look at something else. Didn't know she got it until we got to the car. Didn't NEED the ratchet right now, but it always ***** to need it and not have it.

Nice purchase! That longer handle in a full polish will be much appreciated next time you reach for it I'm sure! A woman who "sneaks" a tool purchase for you is a keeper!

That's a very nice ratchet indeed.

believe me, now you have it, you'll wonder how you ever managed without it.

Yup. I have a round head Snap on ratchet that is about teh same length. I bought it because it was cheap... didn't realize how much I'd use it! That thing is always getting used!

Oh yeah, she earned that title long ago, right about the time she told me to go ahead and use all of the money we got from an insurance settlement for a car wreck to buy my motorcycle. :bounce:

Sweet! Long handle fixed 3/8 ratchet... its always the first ratchet I reach for when starting a project. You are really going to like it and as noted above.... give her some "thanks" for it.

I got the same thing recently and it would be nice to smash my palm to loosen things.. at least not smash so hard anyway.

At least your wife knew what you need to do your work! When I picked a tool off the shelf I just get interogated if a tool is really needed.. "Yes dear, of course I need it!"
