Nicked an electrical hardline in my slab.

Last weekend we all of a sudden had radiant floor heat in our entryway. Long story short, I rented a jackhammer and cut a 1.5 foot hole in my slab yesterday. The spot where I had to dig was outside but on the front porch (so still had to go through the main slab) The electrical line that I hit is 5/8 OD green hard plastic. How do I repair this line?

It seems that all of the exterior outlets (front and back) and the primary outlet in the garage are on the same circuit because when I hit this line with the drill it tripped the GFCI in the garage and shut those three locations down, but nothing else that I'm aware of.

Please feel free to direct me to the proper place if this is not the right one.

There is a special tape you can use to wrap it. You will most likely have to go to an electrical supply to get it. I'm surprised it tripped anything because green should be a ground wire.

It's a plastic hardline, I thought it was PVC at first, but I'm now not sure.

Are you sure that is electrical? It looks like factory coated black steel (an outer PVC jacket over the steel) used for direct burial of gas.

That green line is not something I've seen used for electrical. I agree it looks more like a gas line.

If anything, that galvanized pipe below would be your electrical.

And I'm a little confused. Why were you digging this hole? Sounds like the line wasn't damaged until you started digging.

By the picture it doesn't look to be buried very deep. Do you have a in ground sprinkler system? It kinda looks like SPX Flex or some type of sprinkler hose.

Just felt like digging a hole...

...kidding. The comment about the radiant floor heating was a refferance to the hotwater leak under the slab. The "galvanized pipe" is actually 3/4 copper water line, the one on top with the kink is the hotwater and the leak is right in the middle of that kink. The other line is the cold water line... And I just figured out what the green line is, its jacketed rebar. So never mind.
