One of those things you'd really like to have but never get around to buying (at least for me). Glad I waited. This one was a couple mins from my house and almost new. Thanks to all you guys for the recommendations. Got the one I was looking for...

Hey BMWPOWER you can get a add on extension for that look on the TP website. I put one on mine comes in very handy for that piece that is a little too long. Not that hard to install either. Keep the cloth bag in the vacuum system clean also you can burn up the motor lets not go into why I know.

Thanks. I will check it out.
That was the first thing I did - empty out the vacuum.
Is it advisable to reuse the media captured by the vacuum?

TP Has a media collector that goes halfway between the cabinet and the vacuum. Anything in the collector you can reuse and whatever makes it to the vacuum is not worth using again. Just empty it out I dump mine behind the workshop.

You'll use it more than you think and you'll wonder why you didn't get it sooner.

Yea starting to realize that. All those parts I cleaned in other ways that took 10x longer and not as nice a job.

Excellent find. :thumbuo:

The TIP cabinets are the best bang (or blast) for the buck IMO. Solid construction, great company support, upgrades are available and with more new ones always in the works.

There's a vent on the back of those. Cover it with a piece of foam or sponge to stop dust escaping, maybe even spray it with some light oil. It will make a HUGE difference to amount of dust ending up all over the garage/shop.
Also get a piece of hose that fits the vacuum & vent it to the outside of the building.

Thanks. I was wondering what to expect running as is. After looking online, I think they even make a kit with a filter for the back, but if making my own works, so be it. Dust going everywhere is definitely not something I want to deal with.

You can go that route or TP has a vent with a hose that vents to the outside. That way you dont have to replace the filters. I think I had to do a little adapting but no dust inside all outside.

Wouldn't that bring in moist outside air and potentially clog up stuff? Or are you talking about the hose they sell to attach to the vacuum that vents the exhaust outside?

All I have to say is my blast cabinet is the most used item in my shop. When I bought it the first resto I did afterwards made me wonder why I didn't buy one sooner!!

They still show up at Carlisle show, and the Hershey show. Im lucky enough to have them about 15 mins from me. You got a good cabinet, I had one and loved it, however I out grew it and went to a larger **** Blast Keith

TIP still have their big tent, and bring a bunch of stuff with them these days. When I bought my 960 cabinet with the 176 dust collector years ago, I ordered it over the phone prior and they brought them to the show, saving on shipping. All I had to do was load it all up when I was leaving for the day. They have a huge batch of air tools, body restoration supplies, welding and cutting tools, etc on display now.
